Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to 5 Hieronima Wietora – it’s tucked on this quiet side street that you’d probably miss if you weren’t looking for it. But that’s actually what makes the Vistula River Apartment so perfect. You’re literally in Old Town, like proper Old Town where the cobblestones aren’t just for show, but you’re away from the chaos of Floriańska Street where every other tourist is trying to take the same Instagram shot.

The apartment itself surprised me – and I mean that in the best way. It’s got this lived-in elegance that feels way more authentic than those sterile hotel rooms downtown. The windows face toward the river (you can actually catch glimpses of it if you crane your neck just right), and in the morning you’ll hear church bells from St. Mary’s mixing with the sound of delivery trucks rumbling over cobblestones. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights – there’s this great little market on Grodzka where you can grab fresh bread and local cheese. The bathroom’s modern without being flashy, though I will say the shower pressure could be stronger. Not a deal-breaker, just… you know, worth mentioning.

What really sold me on this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re a three-minute walk from the Main Square – I timed it – but when you step outside, you’re on a street where actual Krakovians live and work. There’s this tiny café around the corner on Kanonicza that doesn’t even have a proper sign, just serves incredible coffee to locals heading to work. And honestly, the location makes everything easier. Wawel Castle is right there (you can see the towers from the street), the Jewish Quarter is an easy stroll across the river, and you’re close enough to walk home after dinner instead of hunting for taxis. Parking’s tricky, like everywhere in Old Town, but there’s a garage about five minutes away if you’re driving. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Krakow, but everything works, it’s comfortable, and you feel like you’re actually staying in the city rather than just visiting it. Plus, the building has this old-world charm with thick walls that keep things surprisingly quiet, even when there are crowds outside during festival season.

  The location was very good, also the private parking space was good, there was water for drinking left, also some snacks (nice details). Everything what you could need for a longer stay. The apartment was clean, warm and quiet. Loads of places to have a meal around in walking distance.

  The apartment is spacious, well located, and has everything that you might need, except a laundry machine. Overall, the bed in the bedroom was comfortable. I will give it a 7 due to the broken sofabed.
  
  What could be improved: The sofa bed was broken, so the person who slept there had 3 very bad nights of sleep as the option to do something was provided during the last day. Even though there was a refund due to the inconvenience, if the sofa bed has not been fixed. I would recommend only booking the apartment for a single person, or a couple that sleeps in the same bed.

  The apartment was very beautiful and nicely decorated. The location was also good, only few minutes walk from many bars/coffee places/restaurants.
