I wasn’t expecting much from an aparthotel in Krakow – I mean, the name literally translates to “In the Heart of Krakow” which sounds like something dreamed up by a marketing committee. But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way possible. The W Sercu Krakowa sits right where you want to be, close enough to the Old Town that you can actually walk to the Main Square without that tourist shuffle-march, but tucked away on a quieter street so you’re not dealing with the late-night revelry that echoes through the more central spots.

The apartment-style setup is actually brilliant – you get proper space to spread out (something that’s increasingly rare in European city centers) and kitchenettes that are more than just a mini-fridge and a prayer. I loved having coffee on my own terms in the morning instead of rushing down to some crowded breakfast room. The building itself has that restored historic charm without feeling stuffy or overly precious about it. Staff genuinely seemed to know the neighborhood too, which makes a difference when you need dinner recommendations that aren’t just the obvious tourist traps around Florianska Street. They pointed me toward this little place serving proper pierogi that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really sets it apart though – and this might sound small but trust me on this – is how quiet it gets at night. Krakow can be… enthusiastic, especially during summer when the stag parties descend, but somehow this spot stays peaceful. The 9.3 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense; it’s earned through those details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days rather than just sleeping there. The internet works properly (not a given in older buildings), the shower pressure doesn’t disappoint, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. I mean, you’re still paying city center prices, and the elevator is one of those European matchbox affairs, but honestly? For the space, location, and that rare combination of character and comfort, it’s worth it. Especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights and want to feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary local.

  Lovely and clean. Friendly reception staff who changed our room from a twin to a double. Room was clean and bed super comfy. Breakfast was good and will definitely return.
