Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Welcome Apartment in Old Town? It’s got this lived-in charm that honestly beats a lot of the sterile chain hotels you’ll find everywhere else. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star place so you’re not getting marble lobbies or whatever, but there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels like actual people live in the neighborhood. The building itself has that slightly weathered European look – you can tell it’s been around for decades, which in Old Town areas usually means you’re right in the thick of things.

The apartment setup is actually pretty clever. Instead of tiny hotel rooms, you get proper space to spread out, and honestly, after a day of walking around cobblestone streets (your feet will thank you for this), having a real living area makes such a difference. The kitchen isn’t going to win any design awards, but it’s functional – I managed to make coffee every morning and store leftovers from local restaurants without any issues. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’d expect more noise being right in the old part of town, but the windows are decent and the street doesn’t seem to be a main thoroughfare for late-night party crowds. Check-in was straightforward enough, though like a lot of apartment-style places, you’ll want to coordinate your arrival time since there isn’t someone at a front desk 24/7.

The location is where this place really shines, and I don’t just mean it’s “conveniently located” – I mean you can actually walk to the stuff you came to see without taking buses or expensive taxis everywhere. There’s this little bakery about two blocks away that locals clearly use (always a good sign), and you’re close enough to the main squares that you can pop back during the day if you need to drop off shopping bags or take a break. The 8.0 rating makes sense to me – it’s not perfect, and the furnishings are a bit dated in that “your aunt’s spare bedroom” way, but it delivers on what matters most when you’re exploring a city: space, location, and decent value. Plus, staying in an apartment instead of a hotel gives you more of that local feel, which is sort of the whole point of visiting Old Town areas in the first place, right?

Apartments in Krakow provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Polish markets and cook with regional Galician specialties.
