Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Yellow Peaked Shoe Apartment? The name is absolutely bizarre, but somehow it totally fits this quirky little place tucked into Batorego Street. I mean, you’re literally staying in the heart of Old Town here – and I’m talking proper Old Town, not the touristy fringe areas. When you step outside, you’re maybe three minutes from the main square, but here’s the thing: you’re on one of those narrow cobblestone streets that actually feels lived-in, where locals are still hanging laundry from their windows and you can hear the church bells from St. Mary’s Basilica without the crowds drowning them out.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish Polish grandmother decided to get into the hospitality business after binge-watching some design shows. Everything’s been thoughtfully updated – the bathroom actually has decent water pressure (honestly, this matters more than you’d think in these old buildings), and the kitchen has proper appliances, not those sad mini-fridges you sometimes get stuck with. But they kept the character intact, you know? Original wooden beams, thick walls that keep the summer heat out, and windows that open onto a quiet courtyard instead of the main street chaos. I stayed there in August when Krakow gets absolutely packed, and while you could hear the distant hum of tourists during the day, evenings were surprisingly peaceful.

What really sold me on this place was the location intelligence – and I don’t mean it’s just “centrally located” or whatever. The building sits right where you want to be if you actually want to experience Krakow like someone who lives here. There’s this fantastic milk bar (Bar Mleczny Pod Temida) literally around the corner where locals still go for cheap, authentic Polish food – pierogi for like 8 złoty, which is basically nothing. The famous Cloth Hall and all the postcard stuff is right there when you want it, but you’re also walking distance from Kazimierz district without having to deal with trams or taxis. Plus, and this is key if you’re planning to explore beyond the tourist trail, you’re close enough to walk to the Vistula riverbank where Krakovians actually hang out on summer evenings. The whole setup just works – it’s got that perfect balance where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without being isolated from real life. At a 9.4 rating, it’s clearly not just me who thinks they’ve figured something out here.

We really liked the apartment. It has everything you need. Great view from window. All good, highly recommended

What could be improved: It is on the third floor and no elevator 🙂

  • A perfect choice for accommodation in Krakow! – Allison from Australia – May 14, 2025 (10/10)

Exceptional view, clean and well styled room, with well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Location very good, close to trams, old town, and train station. Every thing that we could have wanted 🙂 Very simple check in process and lovely hosts who were easy to communicate with. As advertised, it will be stairs only to reach the room. Already missing being there!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Exceptional – Jung from South Korea – February 9, 2025 (10/10)

The response is fast and very kind.
Lodging condition is really good too
I will definitely come back someday!

  • Wonderful – Constantinil from Greece – December 19, 2024 (9/10)

Everything was more than fine. It is smaller than other apartments there (not issue for me), but it may have one of the best views. It's also fully equipped with culinary and toiletry, heating whenever you want, and modern style, and clean. And very close to the Old Town.
    It deserves the money.

What could be improved: The only disadvantage was that it was at the 4th floor without elevator, and that it didn't have a television.

  • Wonderful – Irene from Spain – November 8, 2024 (9/10)

Super clean (more than average) and location. Bathroom with good size. If I return to Krakow I will repeat if I am with my trolley.

What could be improved: It’s on the fourth floor with no elevator. It could be hard to get into the apartment.

  • Exceptional – Patricia from United Kingdom – October 27, 2024 (10/10)

Fantastic location. Walking distance to everything. Apartment was absolutely spotless and communication couldn't have been easier.

  • Very nice – Ana-maria from Romania – July 31, 2024 (9/10)

Very nice apartment. Gorgeous view. The location was perfect.

What could be improved: The shower was small and we didn’t like the bedsheet material. We slept on our clothes, but that’s a subjective opinion.

  • Exceptional – Robert from Germany – July 26, 2024 (10/10)

Lovely apartment. Very modern and clean. Very friendly owners. All great!

  • Wonderful – Su-chin from Taiwan – July 1, 2024 (9/10)

    Great view and light
