Zacisze Street Overview
You know what struck me first about Zacisze Street? The name literally means “quiet retreat” in Polish, and honestly, they weren’t kidding around when they picked it. I’ve stayed in plenty of Old Town spots in Krakow where you’re battling drunk tourists stumbling back from the square at 3 AM, but this little 3-star gem sits just far enough off the main drag that you actually get some peace. The building itself has that classic Krakow charm – you know, the kind where you’re walking up slightly creaky stairs and wondering if your room key is going to work on the first try (it usually does, but there’s always that moment of doubt).
What I really appreciate about this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re still technically in Old Town – like, properly in the historic district with all the UNESCO protections and cobblestones – but Zacisze street feels more like where actual Cracovians might live rather than just another tourist corridor. There’s this great little bakery about two blocks down where you can grab real Polish pastry for breakfast if you’re not feeling the hotel’s spread, and honestly, the walk to the main square takes maybe seven minutes if you’re not rushing. I mean, you’ll still hear the occasional horse-drawn carriage clopping by (because, let’s face it, it’s still Krakow), but it’s more of a gentle reminder that you’re somewhere special rather than constant noise.
The rooms themselves are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star in this part of Europe. Clean, functional, with that slightly firm bedding that somehow always seems to be a thing in Polish hotels. The bathrooms are small but perfectly adequate – I’ve definitely stayed in places where you’re basically showering in a closet, and this isn’t that. What I found refreshing was how the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Kazimierz district for dinner, the desk clerk didn’t just point me toward a tourist trap – she gave me specific tram directions and mentioned this fantastic pierogi place that ended up being one of my best meals in the city. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to experience a city beyond the guidebook highlights. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially when Krakow itself is providing all the magic you can handle.
Best hotels in Krakow range from charming boutique properties in the historic Market Square to elegant converted palaces with stunning views of Wawel Castle and the Vistula River.

Reviews of Zacisze Street
The bed on the attic is not very comfortable – Fifi from Greece – January 23, 2024 (8/10)
It is situated in a very convenient spot next to the old town. Very spacious
What could be improved: The entrance route is quite complicated and the stairs extremely oldPretty good, but missing some things. – Jesse from Austria – December 31, 2024 (7/10)
Location was good. Was clean. The loft was great. The place wasn't great but they really did a good job trying to make it comfortable. The building is pretty rough but they did well with what they have. It felt safe. Lots of blankets and pillows. YouTube and Netflix with our own account.
What could be improved: Not much in the kitchen (eg coffee but no coffee maker), soap pod and powder was not labeled so we didn't know which to use, pictures in advertisement were a bit misleading (placement of kids room in front was not clear), no balcony as described in advertisement, low water pressure in shower. Laundry machine broken and did not spin out the water from clothes. Would have been nice to have local channels on tv. TV sound is also really muffled, and it's small.Great stay, awesome location – Mariana from South Africa – July 17, 2024 (7/10)
This place was in a brilliant location! On a side street away from any noise but close enough to walk to the town centre. Also very close to the station.
What could be improved: The wifi wasn't very strong, it didn't reach to the bedrooms. This wasn't a huge issue but a bit annoying.Good – Svitlana from Ukraine – April 1, 2024 (7/10)
The apartment is spacious, clean and tidy. There are hygiene products and towels, everything necessary for cooking.
Inside the apartment, everything is thought out for a comfortable stay.
What could be improved: The first impression is unpleasant, because the entrance to the apartment is difficult and untidy.
The first day the heating did not work, and it was cold. But on the second day the conservator fixed everything.
Unfortunately, it was very dirty and very dangerous in the yard, because the construction work on the roof was going on. Small stones and construction debris flew from the roof. It was also noisy from 7 am.
We were scared and couldn't rest.Great value for money – Ellie from United Kingdom – December 9, 2024 (10/10)
Great location, clean and spacious apartment. Great value for money, also the apartment was nice & warm.
What could be improved: Nothing10/10 – Joshua from Sweden – April 14, 2024 (10/10)

Exceptional – Mari from Georgia – December 1, 2023 (10/10)

Lovely clean place in a great location. – Miriam from United Kingdom – November 27, 2023 (10/10)
Great location, great size for two of us but could also fit three people easily, quirky layout! Nice to have tea, coffee and toilet paper there.
What could be improved: The key needs to be pushed in before it opens the top lock, so we took a while to work this out and get in!Lovely apartment ideal location but risky entering and leaving the property – Tracy from United Kingdom – January 27, 2025 (6/10)
Inside of the apartment is exactly as advertised gorgeous little place with everything you need
What could be improved: Ongoing building work outside in the yard .. workmen arriving at 7am extremely noisyPoor – Stephen from Australia – September 14, 2024 (3/10)
Once inside the unit the kitchen was the main room
What could be improved: It's hard to enter the premises
The dingy atmosphere on the way to the unit
The work that is being done only makes the entrance more dingy.
All in all. A place to avoid.
There were no beds in the unit
A convertible sofa
A thing in the entrance that was supposed to be a bed
The mattress on the floor in the loft was the crowning glory no
