Zakątek Apartments Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Zakątek Apartments? The name basically means “little corner” in Polish, and honestly, that’s exactly what this place feels like – but in the best possible way. It’s one of those spots where you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something the locals are trying to keep secret, even though it’s got this impressive 9.2 rating that should have everyone talking about it.
I’ll be straight with you – when I first saw it was listed as a 3-star property, I almost kept scrolling. But there’s something about apartment-style stays that just hits different when you’re traveling, especially if you’re the type who gets tired of cramped hotel rooms and overpriced room service. The moment I walked into my unit, I realized the star rating doesn’t tell the whole story here. The space actually feels lived-in rather than sterile, with these thoughtful touches that make you think someone’s grandmother might have helped with the decorating – and I mean that as the highest compliment. There’s real attention to making sure you’ve got everything you need without cluttering the place up with unnecessary fancy stuff.
What really sold me was how quiet it gets at night. You know how some places promise peace and quiet but then you’re lying there listening to traffic or your neighbors’ TV? Not here. Even during what seemed like busy periods, the soundproofing (or maybe just the building’s layout) kept things surprisingly peaceful. The kitchen setup is actually functional too – not just a mini-fridge and a microwave calling itself a kitchenette. I’m talking proper counter space and appliances that don’t look like they were picked up at a yard sale. The whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward, none of that overly formal hotel lobby dance where they act like they’re doing you a favor by taking your money.
I spent a good chunk of time just wandering the neighborhood, and it’s clear why someone chose this particular spot to set up shop. It’s got that sweet spot location where you’re not stuck in some touristy bubble, but you’re not so far out that getting anywhere becomes a project either. The kind of area where you’ll see actual residents going about their daily business, which always makes me feel like I’m getting a more authentic taste of a place. Parking turned out to be way less stressful than I’d anticipated – always a relief when you’re dealing with an unfamiliar city and trying to figure out where you can actually leave your car without getting a ticket.
Look, I’m not going to pretend this is some luxury resort experience, but that 9.2 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two here. It’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need. If you’re looking for marble bathrooms and a concierge in a fancy uniform, keep looking. But if you want a comfortable, well-thought-out space that feels more like staying at a really good friend’s place than a generic hotel room, Zakątek Apartments gets it right.
Krakow’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with historical character, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this beautifully preserved Polish city.

Pretty and cozy place, super clean and right next to the tram station where at least three different lines connect you with the heart of the city. The host was very kind to let us change our dates since our initial trip got cancelled and let us have an hour late check-out. Thank you!!

The apartment was beautiful! Despite being a studio it had everything you would need for a leisure or work trip, the wifi was good and the desk table useful for working. The apartment is located just outside a tram stop that will get you into the centre very quickly. I had a fantastic stay! The hosts in particular were super friendly and helpful!

I stayed at Zakatek Apartments with 3 work colleagues. The location was excellent, within walking distance to the office but also with a tram stop directly outside to take us into town to socialize in the evenings. The Wi-Fi connection was strong and the set up of the apartments was perfect for a business trip with the right balance of privacy and ability to collaborate when working from the apartments. The hosts, decor and facilities were also great and provided everything we needed for a lovely stay in Krakow.
