You’ll hear church bells from the nearby parishes rather than tour bus engines, which is refreshing if you’ve been doing the Old Town circuit.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually care about your experience rather than just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth – none of that awkward waiting around while they figure out their computer system. The rooms have this comfortable, lived-in quality without feeling worn down. Sure, it’s not going to wow you with marble bathrooms or designer furniture, but everything works properly and the beds are genuinely comfortable. Actually, I slept better there than I did at a much pricier place in the city center the week before. The windows open properly too – seems like a small thing until you’re in one of those hermetically sealed hotel rooms where you can’t get fresh air.

Parking was surprisingly easy, which anyone who’s driven in Kraków will tell you is no small feat. There’s space right there, and you don’t have to play that game where you circle the block fifteen times looking for a spot. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings with locals heading to the small restaurants and cafés nearby – nothing fancy, just the kind of places where you can get pierogi that haven’t been sitting under heat lamps all day. I found this little bakery about a five-minute walk away that had these amazing pączki, and the woman behind the counter was genuinely excited to practice her English with me.

Here’s the thing – if you’re looking for a spa with seventeen treatment rooms and a concierge who can get you last-minute tickets to sold-out shows, this isn’t your place. But if you want somewhere comfortable and authentic where you can actually relax after days of sightseeing, where the value feels honest, and where you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble, then Zakrzówek Residence hits that sweet spot perfectly. Plus, you’re close enough to get into the center when you want to, but far enough away that you can escape when the crowds get overwhelming.

  Beautiful new rooms. The shower and toilet look absolutely new and clean. Comfortable furniture, there is a kitchen with the necessary appliances and utensils. There is a huge refrigerator.

  I travelled for work and the accommodation was close to my office. Tourists visiting should know that it is not in the city centre (10 /15 minutes by tram to the old market ) . Room was great, nice and clean and newly renovated. They are still renovating the reception and some of the floors, staircase etc but from my perspective, for the price, it was very good.

  My stay at Zakrzówek Residence was very comfortable. The interior of the room matched the photos on the website. Furniture, dishes, appliances, bed linen and towels are of good quality and new. Excellent location of the hotel, 20 minutes by tram to the center, 10 minutes on foot to the supermarket, 10 minutes on foot to the park with the lake. The hotel employee Yuri was very attentive, kind, tried to help in any way he could. Very good value for money and quality of services provided. I recommend.

  Almost everything was good. Nice new apartment, close to the tram stop (nr.18 gets you to the Old town)
