Zakrzówek Residence Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Zakrzówek Residence on Kobierzyńska Street, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical three-star hotel. The building has this understated elegance that feels more like a boutique property than a standard accommodation — honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how polished everything looked from the moment I arrived. The entrance is clean and modern without being flashy, and there’s private parking right on site, which is actually a huge deal in Kraków where finding a spot can be a nightmare.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in Podgórze, which means you get that authentic Kraków vibe without the tourist crowds constantly bumping into you. The Vistula River is just a short walk away, and you know what’s really cool? You’re practically next door to the famous Zakrzówek lagoon, this stunning turquoise quarry lake that locals have been keeping as their little secret. I mean, couples absolutely rave about this area (they rate it 8.9 apparently), and after spending time here, I totally get why. You can easily walk or take a quick tram ride to the Old Town, but you also have this peaceful residential feel that lets you actually relax.

The Rooms

The rooms at Zakrzówek Residence are what I’d call “smart comfortable” — they’re not huge, but everything is thoughtfully designed and actually functional. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-speak comfortable), and the bathrooms are modern with good water pressure, which honestly matters more than people think. What struck me most was how quiet everything was — you’d never guess you’re in a city this size. The decor is contemporary without being cold, sort of that Scandinavian-influenced style that feels both clean and welcoming.

Breakfast & Practical Details

Now, the breakfast situation is a bit different here — they do breakfast to go, which initially made me skeptical. But actually, it works really well, especially if you’re planning to explore early or want to grab something and head down to the lagoon for a morning walk. The quality is solid, and there’s something nice about having that flexibility rather than being tied to specific dining hours. Plus, with that private parking I mentioned, you’re not stressed about moving your car or feeding meters while you’re trying to enjoy your morning.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this three-star property apart is how it manages to feel both peaceful and connected — you’re away from the chaos but not isolated from what makes Kraków special. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing (that 9.1 rating doesn’t happen by accident), and there’s this genuine attention to detail that you don’t always find at this price point. Whether you’re here as a couple looking for a romantic base or just want somewhere comfortable to crash between exploring sessions, Zakrzówek Residence delivers without any of the pretension you might expect from fancier places.

  • Pavel from Greece (10/10)

Beautiful new rooms. The shower and toilet look absolutely new and clean. Comfortable furniture, there is a kitchen with the necessary appliances and utensils. There is a huge refrigerator.

  • Brian1979 from Poland (8/10)

I travelled for work and the accommodation was close to my office. Tourists visiting should know that it is not in the city centre (10 /15 minutes by tram to the old market ) . Room was great, nice and clean and newly renovated. They are still renovating the reception and some of the floors, staircase etc but from my perspective, for the price, it was very good.

My stay at Zakrzówek Residence was very comfortable. The interior of the room matched the photos on the website. Furniture, dishes, appliances, bed linen and towels are of good quality and new. Excellent location of the hotel, 20 minutes by tram to the center, 10 minutes on foot to the supermarket, 10 minutes on foot to the park with the lake. The hotel employee Yuri was very attentive, kind, tried to help in any way he could. Very good value for money and quality of services provided. I recommend.
