You know what caught me off guard about Zulu Apartments Old Town? It’s actually way more comfortable than you’d expect from a 3-star place. I mean, when I first walked up to the building, I wasn’t sure what I was getting into – it’s got this sort of understated facade that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of the flashier hotels around Old Town. But honestly, that turned out to be part of its charm.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious, and I appreciated that they didn’t try to cram everything into a tiny box like so many city places do. The kitchen setup is legit functional – not just for show – which was perfect since I grabbed some local cheese and bread from the market and actually wanted to use more than just a mini fridge. The beds are comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, though the shower is a bit on the smaller side if you’re tall. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night, even being right in the heart of things. I was worried about street noise, but the windows do a solid job of keeping the Old Town bustle at bay.

Location-wise, you’re basically in the thick of everything without feeling overwhelmed by it. I could walk to most of the main sights in under ten minutes, and there’s this little café around the corner that locals actually go to – not just tourists – where the coffee is ridiculously good. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too; no fancy lobby theatrics, just friendly staff who knew their stuff and gave me actual useful tips about the neighborhood. The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not trying to be luxurious, it nails the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a city. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted that apartment-style space but didn’t want to deal with the hassle of some random Airbnb host.

  Everything was really, really clean and felt so fresh. I loved the fact that there were separate bins for waste so it can be sorted, and there was a water filter, which was great because I'm so used to having one at home, I forget to buy water and then I'm left with nothing to drink when I travel. If I had a question to the host, it was answered within less than an hour. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the apartment, it's definitely amazing for it's price and it's higher quality than most of the places I've stayed at.

  I liked the situation of the property and the cleanliness. The bed was comfortable and the apartment had everything you need the owner was very helpful and was happy to provide information on any trips we wanted to go on and she was very accommodating with our arrival time which was earlier than check in

  The location is great, in 10-15 minutes walk you can easily reach the old town. The manager is very helpful, the apartment is very functional and welcoming. The kitchen has everything you need. Despite the low temperatures outside, the room was well heated, but there are other duvets in the cupboards.

  The property is excellent and conveniently located near the center. It has been newly refurbished and features its own private entrance from a balcony, which I found to be a significant plus. The accommodation was really comfortable, and I really loved the clever arrangement of the two beds in one space.
