Amber Boutique Hotels – Hotel Amber Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Amber? The lobby actually smells like amber resin – not in an overwhelming way, but there’s this subtle, warm scent that hits you the moment you walk in. I thought it might be gimmicky given the name, but honestly, it sets this cozy, intimate vibe that carries throughout the whole place.

This isn’t your typical three-star property, and I mean that in the best way. The boutique label really fits here – everything feels deliberately chosen rather than just ordered from some hotel supply catalog. The rooms have these gorgeous hardwood floors that creak just slightly when you walk (which I actually found charming, though light sleepers might disagree), and the bathroom fixtures are surprisingly high-end for what you’re paying. I was expecting basic accommodations, but the rainfall showerhead and heated towel rack felt like small luxuries. The bed situation is solid too – firm mattress, quality linens that don’t feel scratchy or cheap. Though I will say the pillows run a bit soft, so if you need firm neck support, maybe pack your own or ask housekeeping for extras.

What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. Check-in was smooth, and when I mentioned I was in town for a specific event, the front desk person – Maria, I think? – actually knew about it and gave me some solid recommendations for getting there. That 8.9 rating makes total sense once you experience the service level. It’s not stuffy or overly formal, but they’re clearly paying attention to details. The breakfast setup (continental style, nothing fancy) runs until a reasonable 10:30, which is perfect if you’re not an early riser. Coffee’s actually decent too – I’ve stayed at four-star places where the lobby coffee tastes like it’s been sitting there since yesterday.

Location-wise, you’re not going to be right in the thick of tourist central, which honestly works in your favor. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel – you’ll see locals heading to work in the morning, actual neighborhood cafés within walking distance. Parking can be a bit tricky during weekends, but there’s usually street parking within a block or two if the small hotel lot fills up. The area gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, so if you’re looking for nightlife right outside your door, this might not be your spot. But if you want somewhere peaceful to come back to after exploring, it’s perfect. I slept better here than I have at some supposedly luxury places where you hear every elevator ding and hallway conversation.

It was really a great vacation in this small wonderful hotel. The room was very clean and included all needed facilities: coffee maker, tea maker, safe and a small fridgeder. WIFI was good, breakfast was also good and included fresh vegetables and fruits. We liked this hotel very much.

  • P from United Kingdom (9/10)

Fantastic location, helpful, friendly staff. Spotlessly clean, you could choose if you wanted your room cleaned each day or not which is a nice touch. Something for everyone at breakfast. Beds were comfy, curtains must have been m blackout as no light came in which is a must for a good nights sleep in my opinion. The and coffee facilities in your room which are topped up, even a small fridge which came in useful. I can’t think of any negatives apart from the pillows.
