You know what struck me first about Angel’s apartments? The address alone tells you everything – Szlak 77 puts you right in the heart of Old Town, and I mean the actual medieval heart, not some tourist-trap periphery. Walking up to the building, you’re literally surrounded by those honey-colored limestone buildings that make Krakow’s historic center so ridiculously photogenic. The thing is, being on Szlak means you’re close enough to everything that matters (Main Square is maybe a 5-minute stroll), but you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that plague some of the more obvious streets.

The apartments themselves are honestly what you’d expect from a well-run 3-star place – clean, functional, with that slightly minimalist vibe that seems to be the standard for European apartment-hotels these days. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which isn’t always a given when you’re this central. The walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing every conversation from the hallway, and the windows actually do a decent job of muffling the street noise. I mean, you’ll still get some sounds – it’s a living city center, not a monastery – but nothing that kept me awake. The check-in process was surprisingly smooth too; the Hosty team clearly has their system down, and they’re pretty good about responding to messages if something comes up.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on the location – you’re walking distance from places locals actually go, not just the obvious tourist spots. There’s this little pierogi place around the corner that doesn’t even have English menus, and you’re close enough to Kazimierz that you can easily hop between the Jewish quarter’s cafes and bars without needing trams or taxis. Plus, if you’re into the whole castle thing (and honestly, Wawel is worth the hype), it’s right there across the river. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you factor in that combination of location and value – it’s not trying to be fancy, but it delivers on what matters. The only minor gripe I’d have is that some of the apartments can feel a bit sterile, like they’re designed more for efficiency than charm, but when you’re spending most of your time exploring one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, that hardly seems like a deal-breaker.

  Great location (the train station is very close, and it’s about a 15-minute walk to the city center); the place looks recently renovated; the bed and pillows are super comfortable; everything was clean; smooth check-in and check-out process; fast communication with the host; private parking space available.
  
  What could be improved: The air conditioner mentioned in the listing was missing (this didn’t bother us during our stay, but it could be a problem in the summer); the dishwasher wasn’t working; only one burner on the stove was functional; the dishware situation was odd — one mug and one fork, but three wine glasses and a bunch of spoons 🙃 not sure how two people are supposed to share that. There was also only one towel per person. Poor sound insulation in the unit — light sleepers might struggle without earplugs.

  Malé, útulné, čisté. Moc dobře se nám v apartmánu spalo a výhodou je, že je velmi blízko centra. Plus je to bytová část, která má přístup do zahrady, která je v prostřed budovy.

  Apartament „jak świeżo po remoncie” – wszystko nowe, łazienka i kuchnia czysta, TV wyposażony w smartTV (duży plus). Wszędzie było czysto!!

  What could be improved: Jedyny minus to drzwi wejściowe były takimi drzwiami do „pokoju”, więc na małym korytarzu prawdopodobnie wszystko słychać.

  Net, nieuw, appartement. Met alles wat je nodig hebt voor een paar dagen Krakau. Keukenblok is prima, met alles wat je nodig hebt om zelf te koken, of om zelf je ontbijt te maken. Host is goed te bereiken via de chat van booking. Parkeren doe je onder het gebouw in de ruime parkeergarage (prijs is inclusief), locatie is goed bereikbaar met de auto. Ook dicht bij het station. In groot modern overdekt winkelcentrum bij het station (zelfde complex) zit een grote supermarkt waar ook verse broodjes gehaald kunnen worden. Direct in het appartementenblok is ook een kleine supermarkt. Locatie is 10 minuten lopen van oude binnenstad van Krakau. Onderweg daar naar toe vind je diverse eet- en drinkgelegenheden.
