Aparthotel Old Town Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Aparthotel Old Town on Św. Gertrudy street, you immediately know you’ve found something special. The building sits right in the heart of Krakow’s medieval quarter — I mean, you’re literally surrounded by centuries-old architecture and cobblestone streets. It’s one of those three-star places that punches above its weight, honestly. The entrance feels welcoming without being flashy, and there’s this sense that you’re staying somewhere that locals actually respect rather than just another tourist trap.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about the location — it’s not just “convenient,” it’s genuinely perfect for exploring Krakow on foot. You can walk to the Main Market Square in about three minutes, which means you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the late-night party crowds. I’ve noticed couples especially love this spot (apparently they rate it 9.3 out of 10), and I get why. You can stroll to romantic dinner spots, duck into cozy cafes, or just wander the atmospheric streets without dealing with busy main thoroughfares. The Cloth Hall, St. Mary’s Basilica, all those must-see places — they’re right there.

The Aparthotel Experience

What sets Aparthotel Old Town apart is that it’s actually an aparthotel, not just a regular hotel room. You get more space to spread out, which is refreshing after days of sightseeing. The beds here are genuinely comfortable — and I say this as someone who’s pretty picky about sleep quality when traveling. There’s something to be said for having a bit more room to unpack and settle in, especially if you’re staying more than a night or two. The setup works well whether you’re a couple wanting some extra space or travelers who appreciate having options beyond just flopping on a bed.

Morning Fuel

Breakfast here is continental style, which in this case means you’ll get what you need without any fuss. They also do breakfast to go, which is actually pretty smart — sometimes you want to grab something quick and head out to beat the crowds at popular sights. I appreciate places that understand not everyone wants to linger over breakfast when there’s a whole historic city waiting outside. You know what’s nice? Being able to fuel up properly before tackling all those cobblestone streets and medieval staircases.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.1 rating tells the real story here — this isn’t about fancy amenities or over-the-top service, it’s about getting the fundamentals right in an unbeatable location. People return to Aparthotel Old Town because it delivers exactly what you want from a Krakow stay: comfort, location, and value that makes sense. You’re paying for three-star accommodations but getting that priceless feeling of being a temporary local in one of Europe’s most beautiful old towns. When you can walk out your door and immediately be part of the magic of historic Krakow, well, that’s worth quite a bit.

Reviews of Aparthotel Old Town

The layout of the hotel and it's decor really appealed to me. Every corner revealed some lovely craft, art, molding, painting or texture. The entire place, from its warm color palette to high arches spoke of warmth and welcome. The interesting decorations made you feel as though you looked forward to what you would see next.

  • Chloe from United Kingdom (8/10)

the location is great I've stayed a few times and it's really clean

  • Eleonora from Ukraine (9/10)

It was my second stay at this hotel – we had 2 separate rooms for 1 night.
Rooms were different – the one was on the 4th floor and was really big with windows on the ceiling and other windows with a town view, bed was ok, bathroom was clean, but the carpet needs to be refreshed.
The second one – on the 3d floor, smaller, but cosy enough with a big and beautiful chandelier and big window.

The hotel isn't very modern, but really clean and has a very good location. And has everything you need.

Don't think it will be a great solution for a long term stay (like week or two), but for a couple nights – really good choice.

Be informed that they do not have an elevator so you'll have to reach your floor by foot with your luggage.

We also ordered breakfast – they do not have a breakfast area but they deliver your food to your door.
I was a little bit surprised with such solution, but the breakfast itself was good – bread, ham, cheese, juice, vegetables – everything was fresh and tasty, do not be afraid to take a toom with breakfast.

Do not hesitate to stay at this hotel.
