You know what caught me off guard about Blossom? The name had me expecting some flowery boutique place, but it’s actually this sophisticated converted residence tucked right into Krowoderska Street – and I mean right in the thick of Old Town without being on one of those tourist-packed main drags where you can’t sleep past sunrise.

The location is honestly perfect if you know Krakow at all. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Main Square, but Krowoderska itself is this quieter street where actual locals live and work. There’s a little café two doors down that does incredible pierogi (the owner speaks maybe three words of English, but the food speaks for itself), and you can cut through the small courtyards to pop out right near St. Mary’s Basilica. I stayed here in late September and could hear the trumpeter from the tower each hour – which sounds touristy, but it’s actually pretty magical when you’re having morning coffee. The Upstairs group clearly knows what they’re doing because the whole building feels like someone’s elegant apartment rather than a hotel, if that makes sense. The common areas have this lived-in sophistication – leather chairs that are actually comfortable, bookshelves with real books (some in English), and none of that sterile modern hotel lobby energy.

What really sold me was the attention to practical stuff that matters. The rooms have proper blackout curtains – crucial when you’re dealing with those bright summer evenings in Poland. The heating actually works well (stayed during a chilly October stretch), and honestly, the beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in Europe. Not too soft, not like sleeping on concrete. The bathrooms are modern without being stark, and there’s decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve traveled enough in historic European buildings, you know that’s not always guaranteed. Parking can be tricky since you’re in the old city center, but the staff actually gave me solid advice about where to find spots, not just the usual “there’s paid parking nearby” brush-off. The 8.7 rating makes total sense – it’s the kind of place that does the important things really well without trying to be flashy about it. I mean, you’re not getting a rooftop infinity pool or anything, but you are getting a genuinely comfortable base in one of Europe’s most beautiful old towns, run by people who seem to actually care about the experience. Perfect for couples or solo travelers who want to feel like they’re staying somewhere special without the pretension that often comes with Old Town properties.

  Everything neccessary was present in the apartment. Apartment's design was perfect. All the technics was in perfect working condition. All neccessary tableware was present. A very comfortable location (15-20 minutes walk from railway station, and also 15-20 minutes walk from the Old Town).
