Honestly, when I first walked up to Bubble Apartments on Swietego Filipa, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name sounds a bit quirky, right? But here’s the thing about this place: it’s tucked away on this charming cobblestone street in Old Town where you can actually hear the church bells from St. Mary’s Basilica if you open your windows in the morning. The building itself has that restored medieval vibe that Krakow does so well, but inside it’s been updated with all the stuff you actually need (strong wifi, proper shower pressure, a kitchen that doesn’t make you want to cry).

What really got me was the location, and I mean beyond just saying “it’s central” – you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Main Market Square, which sounds touristy until you realize that means you can grab fresh bread from the vendors at 7 AM before the crowds hit, or duck into one of those basement bars on Florianska Street after dinner. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious for European standards, with these big windows that let in tons of light during the day. I stayed in one of the corner units and could see straight down toward the Planty gardens – you know, that green belt that circles the old city. The kitchen was actually functional too, not just for show, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights and get tired of pierogi every meal (though honestly, who gets tired of pierogi?).

The building’s pretty quiet most of the time, even though you’re right in the thick of things. I think it’s because the street isn’t a main thoroughfare – locals use it as a shortcut, but tour groups don’t really march down it. Check-in was smooth, though they do that thing where they meet you at the property instead of having a traditional front desk, so just make sure you coordinate your arrival time. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Four Seasons, but for a four-star place in this location, you’re getting solid value. My only real complaint was that the shower in my unit was one of those European half-glass situations where water somehow always escapes onto the bathroom floor, but honestly that’s half the buildings in Krakow’s Old Town. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic location and modern comfort, and you don’t need someone in a uniform bringing you towels every day, Bubble Apartments delivers on what it promises.

  It was clean and everything we needed in one place. Staff were lovely and they messaged us everyday to see what we wanted for breakfast the next day. Great value for money.
  
  What could be improved: It was on the 3rd floor (ground level being 0) and no lift. My mobility suffers at times and this was hard going at the end of a long day. If I’d of known I would have requested a lower floor.

  Really great location, close to old town and local market with some great coffee shops. Really lovely staff who made sure we were looked after, including offering to store our bags in their nearby hostel on our last day. Breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of choice, it arrived bang on time, delivered to our room. Indeed you could set your watch on its arrival. One less thing to worry about on a short trip to this beautiful city.
  Room was clean and tidy with all the things you’d need in an apartment for a short trip.
  Don’t expect the Ritz, but do expect great value. It’s ideal for a low/mid budget trip. You won’t be disappointed. I recommend this place for a budget trip – hence the high score.
  
  What could be improved: Our mattress was a little thin and in need of replacement (the springs were a little noticeable). Not that it bothered me, but my partner was a little more fussy. I mentioned this to the staff who, whilst unable to replace it (on a Sunday) did re-make our bed with an extra thick layer of duvet beneath the sheets which did the trick and turned a negative into a positive. Perfect!

  I like everything from the room to the communication on watsapp with the owners,in the centre and nice breakfast which you choose from 6 selection of menus.
  
  What could be improved: The only think I didn't like i was on the 3 floor without a lift and the menu i ordered there was cream cheese and jam which the person who take care of the breakfast for 2 times didn't get me .
