You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Cracovia Wawel Apartments when I first booked it – honestly, the name made it sound kind of touristy and generic. But walking up to the place, I actually got excited. The building has this solid, old-world feel that’s so typical of Krakow’s architecture, and you’re literally a stone’s throw from Wawel Castle. I mean, you can practically see the castle walls from some of the windows, which is pretty incredible when you think about it.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – way more room than your typical hotel setup. Mine had this quirky layout with thick walls that I’m guessing are original, plus modern touches that actually work well together. The kitchen was small but functional (I made coffee there every morning), and the bathroom had one of those European shower setups that takes a minute to figure out but works fine once you do. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re right in the heart of the Old Town. The walls are thick enough that you don’t hear much from neighboring units, though you will catch the occasional late-night reveler walking past on the cobblestones below – it’s actually kind of charming rather than annoying.

Here’s the thing about the location that you won’t get from looking at a map – you’re positioned perfectly between the touristy castle area and the more local neighborhoods where actual Krakovians hang out. Walk five minutes one way and you’re at Wawel Hill with all the crowds and tour groups. Walk five minutes the other direction and you’ll find these little cafes and shops that feel completely authentic. The staff was pretty helpful too, though their English varies depending on who’s working. Check-in was smooth, and they actually gave me some solid recommendations for restaurants that weren’t the usual tourist traps. Parking can be tricky in this area – there’s street parking but it fills up fast, especially during summer months. I’d honestly recommend just walking everywhere from here anyway; most of what you want to see in Krakow is within easy walking distance, and the trams are right there if you need them. For a 3-star place, it definitely delivers more than you’d expect, though don’t go in expecting luxury touches. It’s comfortable, well-located, and has that lived-in feel that makes you want to stay longer than planned.

  Nice, clean rooms, clear communication with the owner. The room has dishes available in the kitchen, espresso machine, perfect.

  Very nice sized studio with all the utilities you need, including coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, a great coffee machine, blow drier, etc.
  The location was great too as it's very close to the old town and the river, so you can go everywhere from there.
