Erasmus Student Apartments – Old Town Overview

First Impressions

When I first heard about Erasmus Student Apartments – Old Town, I’ll be honest — the name made me think it might be some basic student housing. But you know what? I was completely wrong. This three-star property is actually scattered across different buildings right in Kraków’s Old Town, and each location I’ve seen has its own character. The setup is pretty clever, really — instead of one massive hotel building, you get these individual apartment spaces that feel more like you’re staying in a local’s place than a typical tourist spot.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about staying in Kraków’s Old Town — you’re literally walking distance from everything that matters. I mean, you can stumble out your door and be at the Main Market Square in minutes, depending on which building you’re in. The location score of 8.6 isn’t just some random number — couples especially love it here, rating it 8.9 for romantic trips. Makes sense when you can wander the cobblestone streets at night without worrying about getting back to some hotel on the outskirts. Plus, there’s something magical about hearing the Hejnał trumpet from St. Mary’s Basilica when you’re having your morning coffee.

The Apartment Experience

Each room setup varies since they’re spread across different Old Town buildings, but that’s actually part of the charm. Some have exposed brick walls, others have those classic high ceilings you find in historic Kraków buildings. What I really appreciate is having a proper kitchen space — not just some tiny corner with a mini-fridge. You can actually cook a decent meal, which is perfect when you want to grab fresh bread from one of the local bakeries and make breakfast at your own pace. The furnishings are simple but functional, nothing fancy but everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Breakfast Worth Mentioning

The breakfast situation here is honestly better than I expected. They’ve got continental options, but also Italian choices, plus vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free selections — pretty impressive range for a three-star place. The breakfast-to-go option is actually genius when you want to grab something quick and eat it while exploring the Old Town. I’ve done this a few times, taking my coffee and pastry to sit by the Cloth Hall in the morning before the tourist crowds really hit.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but it gets the fundamentals right. The 7.3 rating reflects exactly what it is — solid, well-located accommodation that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re paying for that prime Old Town location and the independence of having your own space with cooking facilities. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little apartment in one of Europe’s most beautiful historic centers. The parking situation can be tricky (like anywhere in the Old Town), but honestly, you won’t need a car when everything’s within walking distance.
