What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re still close enough to the main action that you can walk to the Old Town in about fifteen minutes. The building itself sits on a tree-lined street where you’ll hear more birds than car horns – honestly refreshing after dealing with the hustle around the main square.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: the little details that show someone actually cares. Fresh towels that smell like they were line-dried, a welcome bottle of wine (proper Polish wine, not some generic stuff), and – this might sound silly – but the shower pressure is incredible. After a day of walking around Wawel Castle and getting lost in the Jewish Quarter, that hot shower felt like pure luxury. The kitchen’s stocked well enough that we ended up cooking breakfast most mornings using ingredients from the nearby Biedronka market, which saved us a decent amount of money and felt more authentic than another hotel buffet. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (most streets here are residential with limited spots), but honestly, you won’t need a car much once you’re settled. The tram connections are solid, and there’s something satisfying about navigating the city like a local rather than hopping between tourist traps.
