Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of airport hotels over the years, and honestly? Most of them feel like glorified waiting rooms with beds. But the Hilton Garden Inn near Krakow’s airport actually surprised me – in the best way possible.

First thing you notice pulling up is how quiet it is, which I mean, seems weird for an airport hotel, right? But Medweckiego Street is tucked away from the main flight paths, so you’re not dealing with planes roaring overhead every ten minutes. The building itself has this clean, modern look without being sterile, and parking was ridiculously easy (free, too, which honestly shocked me given how most hotels nickel and dime you these days). Check-in was smooth – the staff actually knew English well, not just tourist phrases, and the woman at the desk gave me solid recommendations for getting into the old town without the usual tourist traps.

The rooms are what really sold me though. You know that weird hotel smell that’s part cleaning supplies, part mustiness? None of that here. Everything felt fresh, and the bed was actually comfortable – not just “hotel comfortable” where you wake up with a crick in your neck. The bathroom had decent water pressure, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places mess that up. What I really appreciated were the little touches: proper blackout curtains (crucial if you’re dealing with jet lag), a mini-fridge that actually gets cold, and outlets positioned where you can actually use them while lying in bed. The air conditioning worked quietly too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to sleep off a long flight.

Breakfast was surprisingly good – not just continental pastries and sad scrambled eggs, but actual variety. They had Polish specialties alongside the standard international stuff, and the coffee was decent enough that I didn’t need to hunt down a café immediately. The fitness center is small but functional, and there’s this little courtyard area that’s perfect if you need some air but don’t want to venture far. You’re about fifteen minutes from the airport by car, maybe twenty by the shuttle they run, but close enough to the main roads that getting into Krakow proper doesn’t require a whole expedition. The Galeria Krakowska shopping center is maybe ten minutes away if you need to grab anything, and there are a few local restaurants within walking distance – though honestly, the hotel restaurant was good enough that I didn’t feel like I was missing out by staying put one evening. For a 4-star place with a 9.1 rating, it delivers on both comfort and convenience without feeling like you’re paying for a bunch of amenities you’ll never use.

The concierge service in Krakow can arrange exclusive castle tours, secure classical concert tickets, and organize visits to nearby Wieliczka Salt Mine and Auschwitz Memorial.

  The main purpose of booking this hotel is late arrival after mildnight.

  What could be improved: Very small, no parking , there is water bottle in the room but without water !!!. No nice view. Value more than its deserves. No free parking .It is good for one night only for passengers who arrive late .
