Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about the Holiday Inn Krakow City Centre? It actually feels more like a boutique hotel than your typical chain property. I mean, sure, it’s got that familiar IHG reliability you’d expect, but there’s something about the way they’ve designed this place that feels distinctly Krakow – not just some cookie-cutter template dropped into the city center.
The location is honestly pretty sweet. You’re right in the thick of things without being on one of those tourist-packed streets where you can’t sleep because of the bar crawls (trust me, that’s a real thing here). I could walk to the Main Square in maybe eight minutes, but more importantly, I was close to some of those smaller streets where locals actually eat – Grodzka and Floriańska are right there. The trams are super accessible too, which matters if you’re planning day trips to Wieliczka or just want to explore beyond the Old Town without dealing with parking nightmares.
What really sold me was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The rooms have these blackout curtains that – and I cannot stress this enough – actually work. None of that thin fabric nonsense where you’re wide awake at 5 AM because Polish summer sun doesn’t quit. The shower pressure was fantastic (yeah, I’m that person who cares about this), and honestly, the beds were comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with medieval torture devices all night. The AC works properly too, which you’ll appreciate if you visit during one of those surprisingly hot Krakow summers. I also loved that they had USB ports built right into the bedside setup – small thing, but it means you’re not crawling around on the floor looking for outlets behind furniture. The breakfast spread was way better than I expected from a chain hotel, with some local touches mixed in with the international stuff. And here’s something you don’t always think about until you need it – the front desk staff actually knew the city well enough to give useful recommendations beyond just pointing at a tourist map.
The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there. It’s one of those places where everything just works without drama, but you’re also not paying boutique hotel prices for the privilege. I’d definitely book it again, especially if I wanted to be central but didn’t want to deal with the chaos of staying right on the market square itself.
Hotel in Krakow booking should be done early, especially during summer season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cultural festivals and medieval celebrations.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and professional, always going out of their way to assist with a smile. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet—it was diverse, fresh, and absolutely delicious.
The hotel’s location was perfect, close to key attractions yet peaceful enough for relaxation. The overall ambiance, from the lobby to the rooftop, was cozy and elegant.

We were surprised how spacious our room was, lots of space. Larger than most hotels i have been to.
Breakfast was great, lots to choose from and eggs cooked to order. Parter had poached eggs which he enjoyed.
