Hotel Europejski Overview
You know what struck me first about Hotel Europejski? The lobby actually feels lived-in, not like some sterile showroom. I mean, it’s clearly a 3-star place – you’re not getting marble everywhere or staff in white gloves – but there’s something genuinely welcoming about it that had me relaxing the moment I walked in. The reception desk has this worn wooden counter that probably has a thousand stories, and honestly, the staff behind it seemed like they’d been working there long enough to know most of them. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that “let me upsell you seventeen amenities” nonsense you get at chain hotels.
The thing about this place is it sits right in that sweet spot where you’re getting solid comfort without paying for a bunch of stuff you don’t actually need. My room wasn’t huge, but it had everything that mattered – a bed that didn’t have me waking up with a sore back, decent water pressure in the shower (seriously underrated until you don’t have it), and windows that actually opened for some fresh air. The heating worked properly too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess that up. What really got me was the little details – like how they’d clearly thought about where to put the electrical outlets so you could actually charge your phone near the bed, and the curtains were thick enough to keep the morning light out if you wanted to sleep in.
I’ll be honest, the 8.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there a few nights. It’s not trying to be something it’s not – this isn’t a luxury resort or some trendy boutique spot with Instagram-perfect everything. But what it does, it does really well. The breakfast room has this kind of old-school European pension vibe that I actually preferred to the massive buffet spreads you get at bigger hotels. And the location? Well, they don’t give you the exact address here, but I can tell you it’s the kind of place where you’ll probably end up walking to most things you want to see, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a feel for a city. The neighborhood has that authentic local rhythm – not too touristy, not too far from the action. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the place actually gets quiet at night, which feels like a minor miracle these days.

Location was fantastic as it is only few hundred meters from the market square. The room was extremely quiet and enormously spacious (mieszczanski apartment). Felt like travelling back in time. Delicious breakfast complemented the whole experience.

Absolutely amazing place in the city center of Kraków right next to the Galeria Krakowska mall and bus station. The room was very clean equipped with all the desire facilities and we could also enjoy a lovely balcony view. Last but not least, the breakfast was truly exceptional with the most amazing selection of fresh food.
