Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Hotel Kazimierz II? The location is absolutely perfect – and I mean that in the most practical way possible. You’re literally on Starowiślna street, which honestly feels like you’ve hit the sweet spot between being right in the thick of Old Town without dealing with the tourist chaos every single minute. I walked to the Main Market Square in maybe eight minutes, but when I came back to the hotel at night, it was actually quiet enough to sleep properly. That’s harder to find in Krakow than you’d think.

The building itself has this understated charm that grows on you. It’s not trying to be some grand palace hotel – it’s a solid 3-star place that knows exactly what it is. The rooms are clean and comfortable (though honestly, don’t expect huge spaces – this is Old Town, after all), and the staff actually seems to give a damn about helping you figure out the city. The guy at reception told me about this little milk bar around the corner on Dietla street that I never would’ve found otherwise – best pierogi I had the whole trip, and locals were lined up for it. The shower pressure was decent, which I always worry about in older European buildings, and the Wi-Fi worked fine when I needed to upload photos or check directions.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits right at the edge of the Kazimierz district. During the day, you can wander over to the Jewish quarter in ten minutes and poke around all those vintage shops and galleries, then head back toward Wawel Castle without feeling like you’re schlepping across the entire city with your camera gear. I mean, parking is still a nightmare if you’re driving – but that’s Krakow, not the hotel’s fault. The tram connections are solid from here though, and you’re close enough to walk pretty much everywhere that matters. I’d definitely stay here again, especially for the price point. It’s one of those places where you realize the 8.2 rating isn’t flashy, but it’s honest – they’re doing the basics really well without any pretense.

Reviews

  • Very Good – Helen from United Kingdom – July 12, 2025 (8/10)

It was clean and tidy and in a good location

What could be improved: The air conditioning unit in our room didn't work

  • Stay Here in Kazimierz – Joanna from United States – July 5, 2025 (9/10)

I've stayed in a Hotel Kazimierz (there is more than one) before and liked it. This one is located on one of the main streets in the district, steps away from tram stops, stores, restaurants, and everything Kazimierz has to offer. The staff were nice and professional. The room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. It had efficient AC (important in the summer heat). Because the room faced the courtyard, I could also open the window and it was not noisy. The internet worked well. I liked that the hotel had a water dispenser. I had a really nice stay.

    What could be improved: N/A

  • Very Good – Lefki from Cyprus – April 19, 2025 (8/10)

LOCATION: 5 minutes walk from Kazimierz/the Jewish quarter and 20 minutes walk form the old town. But you can always get the tram (for the old town), which is right outside the hotel. Tram number 3 connects the hotel with the train station, too. The location is convenient to be picked up, if you book excursions (Auschwitz, Salt mines, Zakopane….).
    BREAKFAST: satisfying, many options

What could be improved: The reception area.
    Very dark corridors.
No place to put your stuff (shampoo/conditioner etc) in the shower

  • Wonderful – Stefan from United Kingdom – January 26, 2025 (9/10)

Excellent value for price paid. Variety of breakfast offering was a bonus.Room clean, warm and comfortable.

What could be improved: A bar area would have been a great addition. Other than that, no complaints.

  • Very Good – Susan from United Kingdom – January 12, 2025 (8/10)

  • Great hotel, brilliant location, clean and comfortable – Donna from United Kingdom – December 8, 2024 (8/10)

Great location, comfortable clean rooms and helpful staff

What could be improved: All that was missing was a hotel bar. Would have been good to have somewhere to grab a drink when getting back from a day out but there were plenty of places around

  • Super – Andrew from United Kingdom – December 7, 2024 (8/10)

    perfectly situated
    friendly staff

What could be improved: shower was pretty small and struggled to bend to wash without either turning the tap to scolding or off

  • Good stay, very good staff, very helpful and excellent breakfast – Peter from Spain – October 31, 2024 (8/10)
