The building sits perfectly in Kraków’s Old Town, and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star property punch above its weight. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of one of Europe’s most beautiful medieval centers — you can’t really ask for much better than that. The entrance has a welcoming, understated charm that doesn’t try too hard, which I actually appreciate more than flashy lobbies that promise more than they deliver.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about staying on Długa Street — you’re basically living like a local in the most tourist-friendly way possible. The Main Market Square is just a few minutes’ walk, but you’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear the horse-drawn carriages clattering by at dawn. I’ve noticed couples seem particularly drawn to this spot (apparently they rate the location 9.1 out of 10), and I get why — there’s something romantic about stepping out your hotel door and being surrounded by centuries-old architecture. You can wander to St. Mary’s Basilica for morning coffee, then duck into the Cloth Hall for souvenirs without any real planning.

  The location is very close to the old town and all tour trip pick-ups, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the property is very clean. Our late cab ride to the airport, which can be rather stressful and concerning in a new place, was expertly arranged by the hotel personnel. We enjoyed peace while on our excursion, which was planned for us. Without a doubt, we will return to Krakow and the Hotel Lavender, and we will tell all of our friends and relatives about it.

  Everything! From first setting foot in it we were impressed with the decor. Our twin room was spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, very roomy, fridge and a fantastic shower. Lift or stairs access. Staff were so helpful and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble, even delivering me milk at bedtime as there were no sachets. Check in/out experience was smooth. Apart from a great choice for breakfast we were too busy doing tours to eat at dinner time in the hotel. I would definitely stay there again. 10/10.
