HOUSEHOST Apartment: Miodowa 42/8a Street Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address for HOUSEHOST on Miodowa Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The building looks pretty standard from the outside, but once you get inside apartment 42/8a, it’s actually quite a pleasant surprise. The space feels like someone put real thought into making it work for travelers, not just threw together whatever furniture they had lying around. You know what I mean? There’s this lived-in comfort that a lot of short-term rentals completely miss.
The location is where this place really shines, though I doubt many tourists realize it at first. Miodowa Street sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the main attractions – I’m talking maybe 10-15 minutes to most of the stuff you’ll want to see – but you’re not dealing with the constant noise and chaos of the tourist center. The neighborhood has this authentic feel where you’ll see locals doing their grocery shopping and kids playing in the courtyard. There’s a little café around the corner that serves proper coffee (not the tourist-trap stuff), and honestly, I ended up going there every morning just because the owner remembered my order after the second day. The apartment itself is clean and functional – nothing fancy, but everything works. The kitchen has actual pots and pans you can cook with, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places give you one sad saucepan and call it equipped. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a brick, and the Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay.
Here’s the thing about this place – it’s got an 8.7 rating for good reason, but it’s not trying to be something it’s not. The host responds quickly when you need something, check-in was straightforward (though you’ll want to pay attention to the apartment number because the building entrance can be a bit confusing if you’re arriving after dark), and there weren’t any unpleasant surprises. I mean, the shower pressure could be stronger and the walls aren’t exactly soundproof – you might hear your neighbors if they’re having a lively conversation – but these are minor things in the grand scheme. What I appreciated most was how the space felt like a temporary home rather than a hotel room. You can actually spread out your stuff, do some laundry if needed, and not feel like you’re living out of a suitcase. For the price point of a 3-star place, you’re getting genuine value here, especially if you’re the type of traveler who likes to experience a city more like a local than a tourist. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge – this is about having your own little corner of the neighborhood to come back to after a day of exploring.
To book a hotel in Krakow during peak medieval festival season, travelers need early planning as this historic capital draws visitors eager to experience its UNESCO World Heritage old town and royal heritage.

Super great location, very close to the attractions, museums and the old town, many great restaurants and cafes around by walking distance. Tram station is almost at the front of the building. It is a small apartment, but perfect for a couple for a few nights. The apartment is modern, good looking, the bathroom is huge and very modern. The host was very helpful with the entrance code, he was reachable on phone and helped immediately. The price was also good for quality.

The room was tiny, small path to other side of bed. Luckily we didn't have any suitcases, those couldn't be opened in a room. Room was clean and quiet, good air-condition. Nice location near by the Kazimierz.
