Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Kraków’s Old Town, and most of them either cost a fortune or stick you in some dungeon-like basement where you can barely get WiFi. But this little gem on Kochanowskiego Street? It actually gets the balance right.

First thing you notice walking up is that you’re literally two minutes from the main square – I mean, you can practically hear the trumpet call from St. Mary’s Basilica if you open the windows – but somehow you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the hen party chaos at 2 AM. The street itself is one of those cobblestone beauties that looks like a movie set, and honestly, the building fits right in with that classic Kraków vibe without feeling like a tourist trap. The AC was a godsend when I visited in July (trust me, those attic apartments in Old Town can turn into saunas), and the whole place felt properly maintained, not like some of the “charming” spots where charming just means “the shower barely works.”

What I really appreciated was how the location lets you do Kraków properly. You know how some places claim to be central but you end up walking 15 minutes just to grab coffee? Not here. There’s this fantastic little café – Café Camelot – literally around the corner where locals actually go, not just tour groups. And if you want to hit up the Cloth Hall or check out the underground museum, you’re talking about a three-minute walk, max. The apartment itself has that lived-in feeling that makes you want to actually unpack instead of living out of your suitcase. The kitchen’s small but functional – I made breakfast there a couple times, and there’s a decent grocery store on Floriańska Street if you want to grab some Polish pastries or whatever.

Here’s the thing though – and this might matter depending on what you’re after – the building’s got character, which means the stairs creak a bit and you’ll hear church bells throughout the day. I loved it, but if you’re someone who needs absolute silence, maybe keep that in mind. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. Check-in was smooth, the hosts actually responded to messages (revolutionary concept, I know), and the whole experience just felt… easy? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to explore a city like Kraków without worrying about whether your accommodation is going to be a headache.

  Близько до площі Ринок, дуже чисто, тихо. Були проблеми з підключенням до інтернету, але власники помешкання дуже швидко відповіли та вирішили дане питання.

  El apartamento está muy bien situado, a 10 min del centro de Cracovia. Totalmente equipado y con todas las comodidades.
  
  What could be improved: Tuvimos un problema con Internet que no funcionaba. Envié varios mensajes pero solo obtenía respuestas automatizadas. Finalmente sugerí que podían entrar en el apartamento un día que íbamos a estar fuera todo el día y cuando llegamos habían cambiado el router.

  L'emplacement à 10mn à pied du centre ville, la clim, l'agencement, les équipements.
  
  What could be improved: J'ai demandé une facture au nom de mon entreprise, impossible de l'obtenir. La facture est à mon nom propre malgré mes demandes successives. Donc attention, si vous voyagez pour le travail, vus aurez un problème de facture.

  Egy szépen berendezett, igényes pici lakás.
  
  What could be improved: Az ágy nagyon alacsony, nem komfortos, nagyon hiányzott a fürdőszobaszőnyeg. Ha egyszerre indítod el a mosogató és mosógépet, akkor leveri a biztosítékot. Nem szellőzik a lakàs, folyamatosan nyitva kellett tartani bukóra az ablakot.
  A lépcsőház nagyon koszos volt, hiába jeleztük a lakást üzemeltető irodának. A lépcsőházban 4 lakásból kettőt ők üzemeltetnek, de szerintük ez nem az ő feladatuk. 5 napon át a mocsokban jártuk és vittük be a koszt az előszobával nem rendelkező lakásba. Lehangoló volt.
