Rakowicka Apartments Nearto Old Town Overview
You know what surprised me most about Rakowicka Apartments? How quickly you forget you’re staying in what’s technically an apartment building and not some boutique hotel. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star place, but honestly – the 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a couple days.
The location is actually brilliant, and I’m someone who gets pretty picky about where I stay in Krakow. You’re on Rakowicka street, which – if you don’t know the area – puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to the Old Town without dealing with all the tourist chaos right outside your window. It’s maybe a 15-minute stroll to the main square, but you’re far enough out that you’ll actually sleep at night instead of listening to bachelor parties stumbling around at 2 AM. The tram stops are really close too, which came in handy when we got lazy after long days of sightseeing.
What really won me over was how the apartments feel lived-in rather than sterile. The kitchenettes are actually functional – I made coffee every morning and even cooked a simple dinner one night with groceries from the little market down the street. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a medieval torture device, which, let’s be honest, happens more often than it should in budget-friendly places. The WiFi worked without me having to stand in weird corners of the room doing some kind of internet rain dance, and there’s decent water pressure in the showers. These things matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just crashing between museum visits.
The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which is rare these days. Check-in was smooth – no standing around for ages while they figure out their computer system. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but that’s pretty much everywhere in this part of Krakow, so I wouldn’t hold that against them specifically. The building itself has that classic Central European feel without being run-down or depressing.
Here’s the thing though – don’t expect luxury amenities or concierge service. This isn’t that kind of place. But if you want somewhere clean, comfortable, and genuinely convenient for exploring Krakow without paying Old Town prices, Rakowicka Apartments delivers exactly what it promises. I’d definitely stay there again, and I’ve already recommended it to friends planning trips to the city. Sometimes the best travel finds are the places that just get the basics right without trying to be something they’re not.

The beds are definitely top of the line, we slept like at home. There is also a dishwasher, which was a nice bonus. There is a huge shopping center within a 10-minute walk. The apartment is warm, although it is on the first floor.

We had a fantastic stay at this property! The apartment is conveniently located close to the main train station, making it easy to travel around. It’s only a 30-minute walk to the old town, where we enjoyed exploring the historic sites. Despite its central location, the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing vacation. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. We highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!

Small but well-equipped apartment; it has everything you need, including a huge balcony. The bed is very comfy. The apartment is in a building with a secure, clean, and welcoming environment. It is super close to the train station, a large shopping mall, and a few convenience stores like Żabka, all within a 5-minute walk. The city center is just a 15-minute walk away

The layout of the room works very well. It's a small room, but you do not notice this.
The location is also really good, about a 4 minute walk from the train station (and about 15 minutes from Old Town)Eszter from Hungary (9/10)
The apartment was clean and nicely furnished, fully equipped. The apartments are located in a very nice and safe neighborhood. The check-in and checkout were easy, just pick-up and drop-down of keys. The accommodation had a very good parking place as well in a closed garage for a reasonable price.
