Hotel Description

So I stumbled across this place called 70s Business Room and honestly, the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know. I mean, it’s not trying to be something it’s not – and there’s actually something refreshing about that level of honesty. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with this unapologetic retro vibe that feels like someone freeze-dried a corporate conference center from 1974 and just decided to roll with it.

The thing is, it works better than you’d expect. Sure, the wood paneling and burnt orange carpet might make your Instagram followers think you time-traveled, but the rooms are surprisingly comfortable. The beds are solid (none of that saggy mattress nonsense you sometimes get at budget places), and you know what? The lighting is actually decent for getting work done. I found myself appreciating the big, sturdy desks – clearly built in an era when people expected furniture to last more than five years. The AC units are those old-school window types that sound like they’re preparing for takeoff, but they’ll freeze you out if that’s what you’re after. Just don’t expect to sleep through it if you’re noise-sensitive.

What really caught me off guard was how well-maintained everything is. I went in expecting that musty smell you get in some older places, but it’s actually quite clean – just thoroughly, authentically vintage. The staff seems to embrace the whole throwback thing too, which I appreciated. Check-in was straightforward, no pretentious lobby nonsense or pressure to upgrade to premium whatever. The parking situation is pretty straightforward too, though the lot looks like it hasn’t been repaved since the Carter administration – it adds to the charm, I guess.

For the price point, you’re getting solid 3-star comfort with a heavy dose of personality. It’s the kind of place that business travelers probably stumbled into back in the day and found surprisingly reliable. The Wi-Fi works fine (thankfully a modern addition), the water pressure is better than decent, and there’s something oddly soothing about staying somewhere that’s not desperately trying to be trendy. I mean, the 7.9 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury, but it delivers on its promises without any pretense. If you’re looking for marble countertops and complimentary champagne, keep looking. But if you want a clean, comfortable room with character and don’t mind feeling like you’re starring in a period piece about regional sales meetings, this place has a weird charm that grows on you.

Krakow hotels provide guests with luxurious accommodations in Poland’s cultural capital, known for its perfectly preserved medieval architecture and rich royal history.

  • Estelle from United Kingdom (7/10)

Fairly central location for sightseeing and only a short walk from the old town. It was fairly quiet given the busy location.

I'd originally been given the wrong room type; the girls on the desk immediately sorted it so customer service was great.

Some negatives however overall I didn't pay much for it so I guess it was value for money.
