I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because, honestly, it was nice to have that option, and there’s a decent Żabka just around the corner for basics. The whole Zabłocie district has really come alive in recent years too – you’ve got the Museum of Contemporary Art practically next door, and all these new restaurants and bars popping up along the Vistula. It’s maybe a 15-minute walk to the main square, which sounds far but is actually perfect because you get to see parts of Krakow that most tourists completely miss.

The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’re there. Sure, it’s not luxury (those three stars are honest), but everything just… works. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, the heating actually heats, and – this might sound small but it’s huge – the shower pressure is fantastic. I stayed during shoulder season in October, and while some of the nearby construction can get a bit noisy during the day, evenings are surprisingly quiet. The whole area feels safe too, even walking back late from the old town. What really sets it apart is that it doesn’t feel like a hotel – more like borrowing a friend’s really cool apartment in an up-and-coming neighborhood. The staff clearly knows the area well and gave me some solid recommendations that weren’t just the usual tourist traps. If you want to experience Krakow like you actually live there for a few days, rather than just checking boxes on a sightseeing list, this place nails that vibe perfectly.
