Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Smile Apartments? The location is just ridiculously perfect – I mean, you’re literally on Starowiślna street, which puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re in Old Town but not drowning in tourist crowds every second. When I walked out the front door, the Main Market Square was maybe a three-minute stroll, but somehow the street itself felt surprisingly peaceful, especially in the evenings.
The apartments themselves have this clean, modern vibe that actually works really well in a historic building. I was honestly expecting something a bit sterile (you know how some newer places can feel), but there’s real attention to detail here. The kitchen was properly equipped – not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation – which meant I could grab fresh bread from the little bakery around the corner and actually make a decent breakfast. The bathroom was spotless, good water pressure, and here’s something that matters more than people realize: the wifi actually worked consistently throughout the space, even when I was video calling back home.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed at night, despite being so central. You get some street noise during the day, sure, but nothing crazy – mostly just the gentle hum of people walking to Wawel Castle or heading toward Kazimierz. The building itself seems well-maintained, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. The staff clearly knows the area inside and out – they pointed me toward this little courtyard restaurant on Grodzka that I never would’ve found otherwise. Honestly, staying here felt less like being a tourist and more like having a really nice temporary home base. At that 9.5 rating, you’re paying for quality, but in Kraków’s Old Town, quality at this location is actually worth it. I’d definitely book here again, especially if I was staying more than just a night or two and wanted space to spread out a bit.
Exploring Krakow offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Poland’s medieval heart, from its magnificent Wawel Castle to its bustling Market Square and timeless cultural traditions.

Beautiful decor in this stylish apartment close to the old town and many other sites. Loved the little touches such as sweets and wine to welcome us, selection of shampoo types and fish-shaped ice cubes in the freezer.
What could be improved: The lack of a lift, but that was only a minor inconvenience when arriving and departing with heavy suitcases.Fab apartment – Claire from United Kingdom – July 11, 2025 (10/10)
