Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about The Castle? It actually looks like someone put real thought into making this place feel special – not just another generic hotel throwing around grand names. The self check-in thing had me a bit nervous (I’m old school, I guess), but honestly it was smoother than most front desk experiences I’ve had. Plus, free parking in Krakow is basically finding a unicorn, so that alone had me sold before I even walked inside.

The location in Bieżanów-Prokocim is interesting – it’s not right in the tourist chaos of the Old Town, which I actually loved. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the main square, but here’s the thing nobody tells you: this area has some genuinely good local spots that tourists never find. There’s this little bakery just down Adama Habeli that does these incredible pączki that put the touristy ones to shame. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll see families walking around in the evenings, kids playing in the courtyards – it’s real Krakow, not the Instagram version.

Inside, the rooms have this sort of castle theme going on (obviously), but they pulled it off without going full medieval cheese. I mean, there are some decorative touches that might be a bit much for minimalists, but the beds are genuinely comfortable and everything actually works – the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, the shower has proper pressure, and the windows seal well enough that you’re not hearing every tram that goes by. The whole place feels clean and maintained, which honestly surprised me given how many “boutique” hotels I’ve stayed in that look great in photos but fall apart when you actually touch anything. One small thing – the lighting could be a bit brighter for reading, but that’s me being picky. For the price point and that 8.5 rating, you’re getting solid value without the inflated costs of staying right in the center where you’ll be dodging tour groups every time you leave your room.

  • I liked everything except mannequin was creepy. – Karolina from Lithuania – August 1, 2025 (7/10)

The room is clean. Comfortable to sleep in, great location.

What could be improved: I liked the room, but there was one thing I didn’t like – as soon as you open the door to enter the house, there was an unsettling sight: a human mannequin. It looked very creepy and almost like a real dead person. It was really uncomfortable, even to sleep, and especially to walk past it. Other than that, the room was tidy and I liked it.

  • If you want quiet spot close to Cracow’s center, don’t even think about it twice and book this spot – Karol from Poland – May 2, 2025 (10/10)

Very tidy and neat place. We’ve had an emergency with our car, and we had to stay for a night in Cracow. Fortunately, we’ve found Roberto’s place, who is a lovely Italian host. Room was clean, it was extremely quiet in the area and we’ve slept like babies, on a comfy bed. Location is also great, far from the noise, but close to two train stops that get you to Cracow’s center in 20 minutes.

Also! Free parking was a great benefit.

What could be improved: For the things it offers, the price was a bit exaggerated, however we won’t complain, it was a last minute booking.

  • Exceptional – Paweł from Poland – October 28, 2024 (10/10)

Very nice place to stay if you are visitng Kraków. There is free parking space per room which is nice for People traveling by car. The host will give you a nice and warm welcome with quick description.
I will surely rent a room here during next visit.

  • Peaceful night's rest after a busy day in the city, perfect place – Sophie from Belgium – August 6, 2024 (10/10)

We had a "budget" room but it was very nice with everything we needed – comfy beds, nice bathroom, kind hosts… we even managed to get our laundry done. The downside is that it's a 30-45 minute trip to/from the centre with public transport, but in return you get an extremely reasonably priced stay and a great night's sleep in a calm neighbourhood. We'd love to stay again if ever we're back in Krakow. Thank you!

  • Wonderful – Fadi from Finland – July 24, 2024 (9/10)

Clean room, comfy bed. Got an upgrated room free of charge, which was very nice.
