Honestly, when I first walked up to Starowislna 66, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the building has that classic Krakow character where you can’t really tell from the street what you’re getting into. But man, this two-bedroom apartment completely surprised me in the best way possible. The entrance might be a bit understated (you know how these old Krakow buildings can be), but once you’re inside, it’s clear someone put real thought into making this place work for actual travelers, not just look good in photos.

What really got me was how they managed to make it feel spacious without being sterile. The living area flows naturally into the kitchen – and I mean actually flows, not like those awkward layouts where everything feels forced together. You can tell this is a proper apartment that people live in, not some cookie-cutter hotel room setup. The bedrooms are genuinely separate too, which is huge if you’re traveling with friends or family and actually want some privacy. I’ve stayed in way too many “two-bedroom” places where the second bedroom is basically a glorified closet with a bed shoved in. Not here. Both rooms feel intentional, with decent natural light and enough space that you’re not climbing over your luggage to get dressed.

The location on Starowislna is actually pretty brilliant – you’re close enough to the action that you can walk to the main square without planning your whole day around it, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your window. I could hear some street noise during the day, but nothing that kept me up at night, and honestly, that’s just Krakow for you. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where you’ll see locals doing their grocery shopping and kids playing in the courtyards. There’s a decent little market within a few blocks if you want to grab breakfast supplies, and the tram connections are solid if you’re planning day trips outside the Old Town.

What I really appreciated was how everything just worked – the wifi was reliable (crucial for me since I was working remotely for part of my stay), the shower had proper water pressure, and the kitchen had actual cooking supplies, not just the bare minimum. Small things, but they add up when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights. The whole place felt clean and well-maintained without being obsessively perfect. I mean, it’s got that 9-rating for a reason – it’s the kind of place where you can tell the owners actually care about the experience, not just getting bodies through the door.
