Tyzenhauz Apartments Rakowicka Street Overview
You know what struck me first about the Tyzenhauz Apartments on Rakowicka? The name sounds intimidatingly Polish until you realize it’s actually pretty straightforward once you’re there – and honestly, that 9.5 rating isn’t just booking site inflation. I mean, for a 3-star place, this spot really overdelivers in ways that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days.
The apartments themselves feel like someone’s stylish cousin let you borrow their place while they’re out of town. Nothing too fancy, but everything works properly (you’d be surprised how rare that is). The kitchenettes are actually usable – I’m talking real counter space and a fridge that doesn’t sound like it’s dying. Rakowicka Street itself is one of those Krakow streets that locals use as a shortcut but tourists haven’t really discovered yet, which means you get that authentic residential vibe without feeling completely cut off from everything. You’ll hear normal life happening outside – kids heading to school, neighbors chatting – but it’s not the kind of street noise that keeps you up. Well, unless you’re ridiculously sensitive to the occasional tram rumbling by, but that’s just Krakow being Krakow.
What I really appreciated was how the whole setup feels designed by someone who’s actually traveled, not just someone trying to maximize bookings. The Wi-Fi reaches every corner (tested it myself after too many places where it mysteriously died in the bedroom), and there’s enough electrical outlets that you don’t have to choose between charging your phone and using the coffee maker. The check-in process was refreshingly human – no weird key pickup locations or confusing codes, just straightforward communication that actually made sense. And honestly? The location grows on you. You’re close enough to walk into the old town when you want that tourist experience, but far enough out that you can grab groceries at normal prices and sit in a café where the barista isn’t automatically switching to English. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that locals line up at in the mornings – that’s the kind of detail you notice when you’re staying somewhere that actually feels connected to the neighborhood instead of dropped into some tourist bubble. For the price point, especially considering that rating reflects real guest experiences, it’s the sort of place you’d actually recommend to friends without any weird caveats or warnings.

Beautiful, spotlessly clean apartment. Bit further from main square than I expected but brisk 10-15 minute walk and you are there. Check in was straightforward once we found the right building! Staff quick to respond to queries. Would stay again

We liked the layout of the apartment and all it's amenities, everything worked and it was very comfortable, felt like being at home 🏡
The location is perfect, less than 5 minutes walk to:
Kraków Glowny Train Station, which is attached to Galleria Krakówska, the biggest shopping centre in Kraków,
The MDA Bus Station which is the transportation hub for European travel and other cities in Poland,
Within 15 minutes walk one may be in the Centre of Town like Rynek Glowny, Florian Gate and Ulica Florianska, one of the nicest shopping streets for entertainment and dining options, also in the Square, the Basilica of Santa Maria takes a Magestic place, surrounded by the stalls of the Christmas Markets 🎄
A little further afield one could easily stroll to the river, past Wawel Castle 🏰 and enjoy the pristine views from atop it's fortified walls, plenty of green areas and gardens in the vicinity of the apartment, lots of shopping options and convenience shops, very safe area, always populated with pedestrians 🚶♀️ 🚶♂️ yet once inside the apartment it's peaceful and quiet 🤫
The Staff involved were very helpful and accommodating, and have great communication skills.
Will definitely stay at Thyzenhauz again if travel plans take us that way in the future.Olha from Ukraine (10/10)

The location of the apartment is very good as it is only 5 minutes away from the main railway and bus station (close to many bars, shops, etc.). The apartment is nice, nicely decorated, modern. The apartment was well equipped – washing machine, iron, food gloves, pots and pans, etc.
I would also like to thank the owner, Leon, who took care of my special request.Linap from Lithuania (10/10)
Great location, next to the main train station, which has excellent connections to the airport or Wieliczka. The old town can be reached easily on foot or by public transport. There are several convenience stores and cafes with good coffee nearby. The apartment and the house itselfs are newly renovated. The rooms are warm, clean with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen.

I like the location it was relatively a very big apartment with all the amenities big refrigerator, comfort beds, a lot of wall mains sockets also kitchen tools, very close to the main train station and the old city. We also been gave given very clear instruction how to reach the property and how to get in. The apartment was also very close to cheap supermarket.

Perfect location, walking distance to the main points of interest in Krakow, historical centre, few minutes from the main train station from where you can conveniently reach Wielicka or get a tour to Auschwitz. Apartment is beautiful and new, in a charming historical building. Parking on the street affordable and quite easy to get. Žabka convenience store just across the street. Breakfast delivered to your door. Kind and responsive host. Just lovely.
