Tyzenhauz Apartments Rakowicka Street Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Tyzenhauz Apartments Rakowicka Street in the Grzegórzki district, you immediately get that feeling of being somewhere locals actually live — not just another tourist bubble. This three-star property sits on a quiet residential street, but honestly, the location is what makes it special. I mean, couples are rating the spot 9.8 out of 10, and after spending time here, I totally get why. The building itself has this understated charm that speaks to the authentic Polish experience you’re looking for when visiting this historic city.

The Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this part of Krakow — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the crowds that you can actually breathe. The Grzegórzki area has this authentic Polish neighborhood vibe that you just don’t find in the Old Town. You know what’s great? You can walk to the main attractions without dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your door. Plus, there are these little local cafes and shops nearby that most visitors never discover, giving you a real taste of daily life in this remarkable city.

The Apartment Experience

The apartment setup here is actually perfect if you want more space than a typical hotel room. Each unit comes with a proper kitchen, which honestly saves you a ton of money — especially in Krakow where restaurant prices can add up quickly. The furnishings are modern and clean, nothing fancy but everything works well. I particularly appreciated having a real dining table where you can spread out maps, plan your day, or just enjoy a proper meal without sitting on the bed. The thoughtful layout maximizes every square meter while maintaining that homey atmosphere.

Practical Perks

The continental breakfast option is pretty solid — they also do breakfast to go, which is clutch if you’re planning an early morning trip to Auschwitz or want to catch sunrise at Wawel Castle. Parking can be tricky in this part of the city, but the property handles it well. What really impressed me was how responsive the staff is; they actually know the neighborhood and can point you toward the best tram connections or recommend that little pierogi place around the corner that doesn’t show up in guidebooks. The attention to detail in guest services really sets this place apart from other accommodations.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.5 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects what happens when a place gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. You’re getting excellent value in one of Krakow’s top-rated areas, with the freedom that comes from having your own space and kitchenette. The location score of 9.6 tells the real story here; you can walk to the Jewish Quarter, catch trams to the Old Town, and still come home to a quiet street where you can actually get some sleep. It’s that sweet spot between convenience and authenticity that makes a trip memorable. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable, creating lasting memories of your Polish adventure.

Beautiful, spotlessly clean apartment. Bit further from main square than I expected but brisk 10-15 minute walk and you are there. Check in was straightforward once we found the right building! Staff quick to respond to queries. Would stay again

  • Pierre from Malta (10/10)

We liked the layout of the apartment and all it's amenities, everything worked and it was very comfortable, felt like being at home 🏡
The location is perfect, less than 5 minutes walk to:
Kraków Glowny Train Station, which is attached to Galleria Krakówska, the biggest shopping centre in Kraków,
The MDA Bus Station which is the transportation hub for European travel and other cities in Poland,
Within 15 minutes walk one may be in the Centre of Town like Rynek Glowny, Florian Gate and Ulica Florianska, one of the nicest shopping streets for entertainment and dining options, also in the Square, the Basilica of Santa Maria takes a Magestic place, surrounded by the stalls of the Christmas Markets 🎄
A little further afield one could easily stroll to the river, past Wawel Castle 🏰 and enjoy the pristine views from atop it's fortified walls, plenty of green areas and gardens in the vicinity of the apartment, lots of shopping options and convenience shops, very safe area, always populated with pedestrians 🚶‍♀️ 🚶‍♂️ yet once inside the apartment it's peaceful and quiet 🤫
The Staff involved were very helpful and accommodating, and have great communication skills.
Will definitely stay at Thyzenhauz again if travel plans take us that way in the future.

  • Martin from Italy (10/10)

The location of the apartment is very good as it is only 5 minutes away from the main railway and bus station (close to many bars, shops, etc.). The apartment is nice, nicely decorated, modern. The apartment was well equipped – washing machine, iron, food gloves, pots and pans, etc.
I would also like to thank the owner, Leon, who took care of my special request.

  • Linap from Lithuania (10/10)

Great location, next to the main train station, which has excellent connections to the airport or Wieliczka. The old town can be reached easily on foot or by public transport. There are several convenience stores and cafes with good coffee nearby. The apartment and the house itselfs are newly renovated. The rooms are warm, clean with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen.

We also been gave given very clear instruction how to reach the property and how to get in. The apartment was also very close to cheap supermarket.

Perfect location, walking distance to the main points of interest in Krakow, historical centre, few minutes from the main train station from where you can conveniently reach Wielicka or get a tour to Auschwitz. Apartment is beautiful and new, in a charming historical building. Parking on the street affordable and quite easy to get. Žabka convenience store just across the street. Breakfast delivered to your door. Kind and responsive host. Just lovely.
