Parkside Fresh Apartments – Old Town Guesthouse – by Upstairs Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Parkside Fresh Apartments – Old Town Guesthouse – by Upstairs, you’ll immediately notice how it blends seamlessly into the historic fabric of Kraków’s Old Town. The building sits on Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie street, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — I mean, you’re literally in the heart of everything that makes this city magical. It’s one of those three-star places that punches above its weight, not through flashy amenities, but by getting the fundamentals absolutely right.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to the Main Market Square in just a few minutes, but you’re tucked away enough that you won’t be dealing with the constant noise of tour groups at all hours. The street itself has that perfect Old Town vibe with cobblestones and historic architecture, yet it’s actually quite peaceful. You know what’s really convenient? There’s a small grocery store just around the corner, and several authentic Polish restaurants within a two-minute walk. Couples especially seem to appreciate this spot (they rate the location 9.7 out of 10), and I can see why — it’s romantic without being touristy.
The Apartment Experience
The apartments themselves feel fresh and modern, which is exactly what you want after spending days exploring medieval streets and churches. Each unit has a proper kitchenette, so you can actually prepare simple meals if you want to save money or just enjoy some downtime. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, though don’t expect anything too fancy — this is comfort and practicality done well. What impressed me most was how quiet it stays at night, despite being so centrally located.
Breakfast & Practical Details
The breakfast setup here is surprisingly thoughtful for a three-star property. They offer continental options alongside vegetarian and vegan choices, which isn’t always a given in traditional Polish establishments. If you’re planning early morning trips to places like Wieliczka Salt Mine or Auschwitz, they’ll prepare breakfast to go — a small touch that shows they actually understand how travelers move through the city. The staff seems genuinely helpful with local recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots but places where locals actually eat and drink.
Why Guests Love It
What makes this place work is that perfect balance between location and value. You’re paying three-star prices but staying in what feels like the most expensive real estate in Kraków — that 9.7 location score isn’t just marketing fluff, it’s genuinely earned. The apartments give you independence when you want it, but you’re close enough to everything that you can be spontaneous about dinner plans or evening walks. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself coming back to rest between exploring sessions, rather than just crashing at the end of exhausting days.

This accomodation is good choice for short trip for few days in krakow. It has very good location very close to the centre. The apartment was clean and the personnel was very kind (we didnt met with them personally we just communicate through booking or whats up and the communication was very friendly and quickly). I appriaciate the choice of self check in (they sent us instructions and the codes how to get to the apartment).

The location was incredible, on the doorstep of the old town but far enough away to be so peaceful. A 7 minute walk to the main train station and 10 minutes to the bus station. Impeccably clean, lovely little kitchenette stocked with everything you need for a short stay and so comfortable.
