Zacisze Street Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Zacisze Street, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked away on a quiet cobblestone street in Krakow’s Old Town, but honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. The four-star property sits in this perfectly peaceful spot where you can actually hear yourself think, which is pretty remarkable considering you’re literally in the heart of one of Europe’s most visited historic centers. I mean, the name “Zacisze” translates to “quiet place” in Polish, and they weren’t kidding around when they picked it.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re about a three-minute walk from the Main Market Square, but you’d never know it from how serene your street feels. The location really shines for couples (which explains why they rate it so highly), because you can slip away from the tourist crowds in seconds and find yourself on this charming little street that feels almost residential. You know what’s brilliant? You can walk to Wawel Castle, St. Mary’s Basilica, and all the main sights without dealing with trams or taxis, but when you want to escape the bustle, you just duck back to Zacisze Street and it’s like entering a different world.
The Neighborhood Feel
What strikes me most about staying at Zacisze Street is how it gives you this authentic Old Town experience without the chaos. The building fits seamlessly into the historic architecture around it — we’re talking about a neighborhood where some structures date back to the 14th century, so there’s this incredible sense of stepping back in time. During the day, you’ll hear the clip-clop of horse-drawn carriages on nearby streets, but by evening, your little corner becomes wonderfully quiet. There’s something almost magical about having morning coffee and watching the early light hit those old stone buildings.
The Practical Side
The rooms themselves feel thoughtfully designed for the space they’re working with — Old Town buildings come with their quirks, but Zacisze Street manages to blend modern comfort with historic charm pretty well. You’ll find everything you need without feeling cramped, and the windows often offer lovely views of the surrounding rooftops and church spires. The staff genuinely seems to know the area inside and out, which comes in handy when you want restaurant recommendations that aren’t just the obvious tourist spots. I actually discovered some of my favorite Krakow cafes based on their suggestions.
Why Guests Love It
Honestly, it comes down to that perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility. You’re staying in a place where you can be at the Cloth Hall in five minutes, but you’re not lying awake listening to late-night revelers stumbling past your window. The recent guest ratings really reflect this — people consistently mention feeling like they found this secret corner of Old Town that somehow escaped the tourist madness. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own quiet street while still being in the thick of everything Krakow has to offer. It’s that rare find where the location actually enhances your experience rather than just checking a box.
Best hotels in Krakow range from charming boutique properties in the historic Market Square to elegant converted palaces with stunning views of Wawel Castle and the Vistula River.

Reviews of Zacisze Street
Lovely apartment ideal location but risky entering and leaving the property – Tracy from United Kingdom – January 27, 2025 (6/10)
Inside of the apartment is exactly as advertised gorgeous little place with everything you need
What could be improved: Ongoing building work outside in the yard .. workmen arriving at 7am extremely noisyPretty good, but missing some things. – Jesse from Austria – December 31, 2024 (7/10)
Location was good. Was clean. The loft was great. The place wasn't great but they really did a good job trying to make it comfortable. The building is pretty rough but they did well with what they have. It felt safe. Lots of blankets and pillows. YouTube and Netflix with our own account.
What could be improved: Not much in the kitchen (eg coffee but no coffee maker), soap pod and powder was not labeled so we didn't know which to use, pictures in advertisement were a bit misleading (placement of kids room in front was not clear), no balcony as described in advertisement, low water pressure in shower. Laundry machine broken and did not spin out the water from clothes. Would have been nice to have local channels on tv. TV sound is also really muffled, and it's small.Great value for money – Ellie from United Kingdom – December 9, 2024 (10/10)
Great location, clean and spacious apartment. Great value for money, also the apartment was nice & warm.
What could be improved: NothingPoor – Stephen from Australia – September 14, 2024 (3/10)
Once inside the unit the kitchen was the main room
What could be improved: It's hard to enter the premises
The dingy atmosphere on the way to the unit
The work that is being done only makes the entrance more dingy.
All in all. A place to avoid.
There were no beds in the unit
A convertible sofa
A thing in the entrance that was supposed to be a bed
The mattress on the floor in the loft was the crowning glory noGreat stay, awesome location – Mariana from South Africa – July 17, 2024 (7/10)
This place was in a brilliant location! On a side street away from any noise but close enough to walk to the town centre. Also very close to the station.
What could be improved: The wifi wasn't very strong, it didn't reach to the bedrooms. This wasn't a huge issue but a bit annoying.10/10 – Joshua from Sweden – April 14, 2024 (10/10)
Perfect base for exploring Krakow, host was very helpful and friendly
Good – Svitlana from Ukraine – April 1, 2024 (7/10)
The apartment is spacious, clean and tidy. There are hygiene products and towels, everything necessary for cooking.
Inside the apartment, everything is thought out for a comfortable stay.
What could be improved: The first impression is unpleasant, because the entrance to the apartment is difficult and untidy.
The first day the heating did not work, and it was cold. But on the second day the conservator fixed everything.
Unfortunately, it was very dirty and very dangerous in the yard, because the construction work on the roof was going on. Small stones and construction debris flew from the roof. It was also noisy from 7 am.
We were scared and couldn't rest. The bed on the attic is not very comfortable – Fifi from Greece – January 23, 2024 (8/10)
It is situated in a very convenient spot next to the old town. Very spacious
What could be improved: The entrance route is quite complicated and the stairs extremely oldExceptional – Mari from Georgia – December 1, 2023 (10/10)
everything
Lovely clean place in a great location. – Miriam from United Kingdom – November 27, 2023 (10/10)
Great location, great size for two of us but could also fit three people easily, quirky layout! Nice to have tea, coffee and toilet paper there.
What could be improved: The key needs to be pushed in before it opens the top lock, so we took a while to work this out and get in!
