First Impressions

Walking up to Marka Apartment 1 on Świętego Marka street, you immediately know you’ve hit the jackpot location-wise. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Main Market Square — I could hear the horse-drawn carriages clattering over cobblestones from my window. This three-star place doesn’t try to be fancy, but honestly, when you’re this close to everything that matters in Kraków, who needs marble lobbies?

The Heart of Old Town

The location here is actually ridiculous — and I mean that in the best way possible. You can stumble out the front door and be at St. Mary’s Basilica in about two minutes, maybe three if you stop to gawk at the architecture (which you will). The Cloth Hall, Wawel Castle, all those little side streets with their hidden bars and pierogi joints — everything’s within easy walking distance. What really struck me is how you’re right in the thick of things, but the street itself isn’t completely overrun with tour groups at all hours.

The Apartment Experience

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel room. There’s a proper kitchen with everything you need if you want to grab some local cheese and bread from the nearby market — though honestly, with so many great restaurants around, I barely used it. The space has that old European charm you’d expect, with high ceilings and windows that actually open (you know how rare that’s becoming). It’s clean, comfortable, and has enough character to remind you that you’re definitely not in some generic chain hotel.

Practical Considerations

One thing to keep in mind — this is Old Town, so don’t expect to pull up right outside with your rental car. Parking means finding a spot outside the pedestrian zone and walking a bit, but that’s pretty standard for this part of the city. The building itself is historic, which means charming but also means no elevator if you’re on an upper floor. The Wi-Fi worked fine for my needs, and the shower had decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit or miss in these older buildings.

Why Guests Love It

Look, couples absolutely rave about this place, and I get it — there’s something romantic about being able to wander out for dinner and find yourself surrounded by all that medieval architecture lit up at night. You’re close enough to the action that you can pop back during the day if you need a break, but you’re also right there when the evening energy kicks in. For the price point and that location score everyone talks about, it’s honestly hard to beat if you want to experience Kraków the way it’s meant to be experienced — on foot, discovering things as you go, with your home base right in the center of it all.

  Location is perfect! Also host reserved us free parking space next to the Krakow Theatre (3min away from appartment).
  It's not the best or the newest, but it's great – spacious, quiet, in a great location and allows self check-in.

  Everything was clean, greate location 5min to city center, car can be left nearby and wery suportive stuff. Recomend for everyone!

  The apparment was lovely🥰. Excellent location. Right in the heart of the old town of Krakow. It had all necessary appliances and amenities . The Lady who was looking after us was very thoughtful, pleasant and professional. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back there on my next visit 🙂

  In fairness, the flat serves its purpose. It is secure, it has a comfortable bed, a good shower and basic stove top cooking facilities. The internet is strong for the most part but can be problematic if conference calling etc. or working from home. The location is lovely with easy reach to the old town and the beautiful parks and churches.

  The apartment was spotless. Very comfortable bed. I felt I love with the bathroom, just amazing. The owner was pending on us in case we needed anything. Direct communication and always helpful. We were in the center of the city what it was very handy. 100% recommendable.

  Alojamiento muy bien ubicado en el centro historico, muy limpio y amplio, tuvimos respuesta rapidas y ayudas por parte del anfitrion. La ubicación interna del apartamento lo hace muy especial , silencioso para la hora del descanso. Cuenta con iluminación y ventilacion natural por las ventanas que dan a un patio o jardin. Nuestra estadia fue muy agradable por eso lo recomiendo, Gracias por todo al anfitrion.
