Sunset Stories Old Town Apartment Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to the fourth floor of this historic building on Augustiańska Street, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from Sunset Stories Old Town Apartment. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. This three-star apartment sits right in the beating heart of Kraków’s Old Town, and I mean literally — you’re about a two-minute walk from the Main Market Square. The building itself has that authentic Polish character that you just can’t fake, with thick walls and those charming old-world details that remind you you’re staying somewhere with real history.

The Space

The room setup actually works really well for couples or solo travelers who want more than just a hotel box. There’s a proper living area where you can spread out your maps and plan your day, plus a small kitchenette that’s perfect for making morning coffee or storing those Polish pastries you’ll inevitably buy too many of. I appreciated having space to breathe — you know how cramped some Old Town accommodations can feel, but this place gives you room to actually live a bit. The windows face the courtyard, so it’s surprisingly quiet considering you’re in the absolute center of everything.

Location Magic

Here’s where this place really shines, and honestly, it’s hard to overstate how perfect the location is. You’re on Augustiańska, which means you can stumble out the door and be at St. Mary’s Basilica before you’ve finished your morning coffee. The Cloth Hall, Wawel Castle, all those little side streets with the best pierogi joints — everything’s within a five-minute walk. I actually found myself coming back during the day just because it was so easy, and couples seem to get this too (they’ve rated the location 9.5, which makes total sense). You’re close enough to hear the hourly trumpet call from St. Mary’s tower, but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with tour groups under your windows.

Practical Comforts

What I really liked was how thoughtfully set up everything felt. The kitchenette has everything you actually need — not just the bare minimum that some places throw in. There’s decent wifi, which matters when you’re trying to figure out train schedules or restaurant reservations. The bathroom’s compact but well-designed, and the shower pressure is actually pretty good (something you learn to appreciate after a few disappointing European hotel experiences). Small touches like having enough electrical outlets and proper lighting make a difference when you’re settling in for a few days.

Why Guests Love It

Look, with a 9.3 rating, this place is clearly doing something right, and after staying here, I get it. It’s that sweet spot where you’re paying for location and comfort without the premium that comes with fancy hotel amenities you probably won’t use anyway. You’re literally living in medieval Kraków — I mean, you can walk to the castle in your pajamas if you want to. The apartment gives you independence to explore at your own pace, grab groceries at the nearby market, and really feel like you’re experiencing the city rather than just visiting it. For the price point and that unbeatable Old Town location, it’s honestly hard to find better value in Kraków.

An apartment in an outstanding location, very atmospheric, clean, and beautifully furnished. The owners are very helpful and communicative, with great attention to detail. Highly recommended!

A little place of serenity in Krakow. I wanted a comfortable, clean yet homely and safe place for my stay and this definitely was the right place! The flat was very calm so I slept like a baby. It had a nice view, was decorated with taste and had all the facilities you need. The hosts were very responsive and recommended places to see, visit etc, which was definitely welcome. I really appreciated being able to check in a bit early as I could drop off my bag.

  • Lynn from United Kingdom (10/10)

It was fresh and clean. Only 20min walk to town centre tram available in next street couldn't fault the apartment. Pat and Dave the owners responded very quickly to any queries we had. They even brought us a washing up sponge and loca breakfast bakery pastry items booking for next year soon.

  • Andrea from Italy (10/10)

My stay here was very pleasant. The house is well furnished and offers all possible comforts to fully enjoy one's experience in Krakow. The house is cozy and warm in the winter months, the kitchen is well furnished, there is a boiler and a toaster, and in the bathroom there is a hair dryer and a straightener. The neighborhood in which it is located is wonderful and is full of history as it is was the Jewish quarter. It is full of clubs, pubs and restaurants. Also behind the house is the tram stop with which to easily reach the historic center.
The owners were very kind even suggesting places where to eat and what to visit.
    I highly recommend it!

L'emplacement était parfait. La communication avec les propriétaires était amicale. Ils étaient arrangeants et très réactifs. La climatisation était un plus indispensable. La décoration et l'équipement de l'appartement étaient parfaits également.

Znakomita lokalizacja. Bardzo cicho. Bardzo czysto. Miła aranżacja wnętrza. Piękny widok z okna i balkonu.

  • Aleksandra from Poland (10/10)
