Sunset Stories Old Town Apartment Overview
You know what struck me first about Sunset Stories? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think with these boutique places. I mean, the evening light really does pour through those old town windows in this golden, story-book kind of way that had me reaching for my camera every single night.
The apartment sits right in the heart of the old quarter, and I’m talking proper old town here – cobblestones that’ll test your suitcase wheels, narrow streets where you can practically touch both buildings at once, the whole nine yards. What I loved though is how quiet it gets once the day-trippers head back to their buses. You’re literally surrounded by history, but come evening it’s just you and maybe a few locals heading to that little tapas place around the corner (ask Maria at check-in about it – she’ll point you in the right direction). The building itself has this worn stone facade that looks like it’s been watching over the street for centuries, which it probably has.
Inside, they’ve done something really smart – kept all the character stuff like the exposed beams and those thick walls that keep things cool, but actually made it comfortable for modern travelers. The bed’s legitimately good (I’m picky about this), there’s proper water pressure in the shower, and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like some of these converted old places. I’ll be honest, the kitchen’s on the smaller side, but it’s got everything you need if you want to grab fresh stuff from the morning market – which is about a three-minute walk, by the way. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a hotel, if that makes sense.
What really won me over though was just how genuinely helpful everyone was without being all formal about it. When I couldn’t figure out the coffee machine (it’s fancier than it looks), someone actually came up to show me instead of just explaining over the phone. And when I mentioned wanting to catch the sunrise from somewhere good, they didn’t just say “the castle” like every guidebook – they told me about this little viewpoint that locals use, complete with which streets to take so you don’t get lost in the maze down there.
The only thing to keep in mind is that old town means old town noise in the mornings – church bells, delivery trucks navigating those narrow streets, that sort of thing. But honestly? It becomes part of the charm pretty quickly. Plus, you’re trading a bit of early morning quiet for being able to walk to everything worth seeing. No taxis, no planning routes, just step outside and you’re already in the middle of everything that made you want to visit in the first place. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight – that 9.3 rating isn’t just people being generous.

An apartment in an outstanding location, very atmospheric, clean, and beautifully furnished. The owners are very helpful and communicative, with great attention to detail. Highly recommended!

A little place of serenity in Krakow. I wanted a comfortable, clean yet homely and safe place for my stay and this definitely was the right place! The flat was very calm so I slept like a baby. It had a nice view, was decorated with taste and had all the facilities you need. The hosts were very responsive and recommended places to see, visit etc, which was definitely welcome. I really appreciated being able to check in a bit early as I could drop off my bag.

It was fresh and clean. Only 20min walk to town centre tram available in next street couldn't fault the apartment. Pat and Dave the owners responded very quickly to any queries we had. They even brought us a washing up sponge and loca breakfast bakery pastry items booking for next year soon.
Andrea from Italy (10/10)
My stay here was very pleasant. The house is well furnished and offers all possible comforts to fully enjoy one's experience in Krakow. The house is cozy and warm in the winter months, the kitchen is well furnished, there is a boiler and a toaster, and in the bathroom there is a hair dryer and a straightener. The neighborhood in which it is located is wonderful and is full of history as it is was the Jewish quarter. It is full of clubs, pubs and restaurants. Also behind the house is the tram stop with which to easily reach the historic center.
The owners were very kind even suggesting places where to eat and what to visit.
I highly recommend it!Yuliia from Ukraine (10/10)
